Author's Note: Wow, I am an emotional wreck after writing this chapter. This is the first chapter I've actually teared up at while writing. I don't want to say I hope you enjoy this chapter because let's be honest, it's depressing as fuck. Anyways, have a lovely weekend everyone xx

The Next Morning.

"Nikki...hey wake up!"

Nikki slowly opened his eyes, squinting in the light.

"..Tommy?" he squinted, making out the drummer's face.

"Yeah dude, get up!" Tommy told him.

Nikki looked around, confused.

"What the fuck am I doing in your room?"

"I found you wandering around outside at three am. You were high off your ass, spouting off random shit."

Nikki smirked, "Oh yeah, like what?"

Tommy shrugged, "I dunno man, I was so far gone I barely remember. Something about Janie ruining your life or some shit."

Nikki's brows drew together, "What the fuck?"

"Like I said, it was a whole lotta nonsense. I tried to get you back to your room but you refused to go, saying you didn't wanna be around her. So I brought you back here. You guys must've gotten in a fight or something."

"Oh fuck." Nikki groaned.

He and Janie had argued more in the last month than they had in their entire relationship. She kept pushing him to cut back on the drugs. He was trying, but it wasn't like he could quit just like that. That and she kept acting like he had a problem. He didn't have a problem, he just liked to have a good time. And if he stopped now the withdrawals would be a bitch.

"Well, I guess I better apologize for whatever I did last night." he resigned, rolling out of the bed.

"Good luck dude." Tommy clapped him on the back.

"Thanks man." Nikki waved as he opened the door.

God, this hangover was a bitch. Whatever combination of substances he'd taken last night had really fucked with him. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn't for the life of him remember anything about last night. As he made his way down the halls to get back to his and Janie's room, he wracked his brain.  What Tommy had told him sounded vaguely familiar.

You just have to ruin everything, don't you?

Well, it didn't really matter if he couldn't remember last night. He was sure Janie would fill in the blanks for him. She always did.

Feeling around in his pockets, he thanked his lucky stars he still had his room key and his wallet. There had been plenty of nights on the road where he didn't have one or the other, and on the really crazy nights, he'd usually lose both.

He slipped the key in the hole, opening the door slowly.

"Babe?" he called out.

He received no answer, though he heard something drop to the floor followed by the sound of the bathroom door slamming.

Confusion spread over him as he walked into the room. Janie's bags were sitting on her bed. They were all packed.

What the fuck?

He walked over to the bathroom door. Leaning in, he could hear Janie throwing up on the other side. Jeez, whatever was making her sick was really doing a number on her.
