We made it back to Emmett's house by 3:17 in the morning. Surprisingly everyone was up even though Emmett never called them. I made sure of it because I never actually fell asleep. I only pretended so that he wouldn't even try to make small talk.
Plus, Emmett seemed like he was in a huge hurry. He never stopped once, he just drove! I really thought we would run out of gas, but surprisingly we never did.
We pulled up into the driveway, and Emmett parked in the garage. He grabbed both our bags, and got out, leaving me behind. I followed him through the door leading into the kitchen, where I found him speaking quietly to his parents.
"Uh, Clara? Will you go ahead and take your things upstairs please?" Carlisle spoke to me.
Emmett never looked at me, but he seemed angry. I nodded my head, knowing that they needed time to talk. Besides, if Carlisle could talk some sense into him, that'd be great! I wasn't going to interrupt their discussion.
Dragging my bag up the stairs, I came across Alice. "Clara!" She exclaimed. "Let me see that ring of yours!"
"What?" I asked dumbly. Then I looked down, "oh.." I trailed off, blushing.
I held out my hand so that Alice could see it. "It's so beautiful!" she squealed with delight. I felt a pang as I went and told her what really happened.
"Uh, Alice?"
"Yeah?"
Ruining her moment was going to hurt a little. But I needed to do it quickly, it would be kind of like ripping off a band-aid!
"We're divorcing." I put it simply but stated it. There was no way around this. Alice's face dropped.
"What?" she asked. "No!" she cried out.
"Alice, we can't! We barely know each other. This was a mistake, and shouldn't have happened at all!"
"No. This was meant to happen, I know it was. I saw it." she mumbled the last part, so I didn't quite catch it.
"What did you say?"
"Oh nothing," and she waved me off. "I have to go, ok Clara?"
"Oh, ok. Talk to you later?"
"Yeah... yeah. Talk to you later," and then she walked off. Well, that was a little strange.
I went and started unpacking my stuff when I could hear raised voices downstairs. I walked out of my room and went into the little office/loft above the kitchen. I only stood by the door though, because I didn't want to be seen or heard. That would be embarrassing.
"Can you please tell me again why you married that girl?" I heard Rosalie yell out. Well, gee.
"I got lost in the moment. She feels like the one, but she won't even admit to loving me back now. She did the other night, it was amazing. I just got caught up in the moment. I didn't realize her feelings would change completely!" He sounded a little pained.
"You know, if it does work out, you're going to have to tell her." Carlisle reasoned.
"No!"
"Then you're going to have to let her go. It is the only way. You can't have her and not tell her about us. Don't you think she'd question why she's growing older? Don't you think that might set up some red flags?"
"Well, yeah, but..."
"There's no buts. You have to tell her and that's final!" So that's where Emmett got it from. But what are they talking about? I'd question why I'm growing older? We all grow older, it just happens. It's natural and there's no way around it.
"Alright, thank you, Carlisle. I'm... going to go hunt."
"You do that, and think long and hard about what you need to do and are going to have to do. Don't forget, it's a package deal."
"Yes, I'll be back by noon. See you all later!" I heard the door slam shut behind him as he took off. I decided to go back to my room, and finish unpacking. Maybe take another shower and just go back to bed.
I thought I heard someone behind me, but when I turned around no one was there. Maybe I'm just hearing things. I am running off no sleep right now.
I decided against the shower and just went to bed. I'll take one in the morning, I thought before my head hit the pillow.

When I woke up, I grabbed a brown tank top, a blue shirt, a pair of skinnies, and a navy blue pair of converse. I walked out to the bathroom and started the shower. Setting my clothes on a shelf, I pulled out two towels and laid them on the floor beside the tub.
Stepping into the shower, I started to cry. All this frustration from the past two days was just too much. And then I had all these unanswered questions! What was that about, seriously?
I shut off the shower and reached my hand out to find my towel. My eyes were closed because I don't like the water touching them. I'm a very paranoid person, ok? Grabbing the towel, I wiped my face off, then wrapped it around my hair. Going to grab the next one, I stepped out of the tub to see Alice sitting on the toilet.
"Alice!" I screamed.
"What?" She acted completely clueless as to why I had just freaked out. My heart was pounding so fast, I could hear it!
"Why are you in here?" I yelled.
"Shhh... Keep it down!" she whispered back.
"Ok! Now, why?"
"I have to talk to you. It's important."
"And it couldn't have waited?" I asked.
Alice looked shocked. "Are you crazy? Of course not!"
I sighed. "Then what is it?"
"It's about Emmett..."
"OK?"
"As soon as he came home, he locked himself in his room. None of us can get him out, and you're probably the only one who could."
"That's not really my problem."
"I think it is. He loves you, Clara! Why can't you see that?"
"Because he went and married me!"
'Now that's not fair Clara! You agreed too!"
"How would you know? I was drunk! He could have been too! Maybe he wasn't thinking clearly!"
"Keep it down!"
"Fine."
"Now go talk to him. Now."
"Can I get dressed first?"
"Yes, but you have 5 minutes to get your butt to his room before I drag you there myself."
"Yeah, yeah..." I trailed off.
"4 minutes!"
"Got it!" I hurried and threw my clothes on. I brushed my teeth, then quickly ripped the brush through my hair, and ran out of the bathroom.
I stood outside of his door and took a deep breath before knocking. My heart pounded as I waited.
