You look over to see Porrim with a 'I need you to do something' smile on her face. You ignore it and smile back at her,
"Hey Porimm"
"(YN)! Co+uld yo+u do+ me a favo+r?" She asks, as you expected.
Not really being one to decline people you nod and stand up, though that didnt change the fact you had to look up at her.
"Great!" She exclaims happily, "no+w I lo+ve kanny and all but I just want to+ have fun and currently he is making that very difficult." She says in an almost too cheery manner.
"You want me to watch him?" You question making her laugh a little.
"Well maybe no+t watch, but maybe just make sure he do+esnt get triggered? Just listen to+ him talk"
You nod. Though you've never really spent any time with the trigger happy troll you think spending a few hours with him while Porimm was having fun would be alright.
"Thankyo+u so+ much (YN), this means a lo+t to+me" she says as she leads you to where you assume she was previously watching Kankri.
"Its no problem Porimm" you say with a smile. She smiles back and taps Kankris shoulder to grab his attention. He quickly apologizes to a very tired looking Rufioh and turns to Porimm and you.
"p9rimm I was in the middle 9f a c9nversation with rufi9h if y9u c9uldnt tell and I w9uld like to get 6ack t9 it" he says with a slight hint of annoyance in his voice. You could see Porimms eye twitch faintly as she spoke back,
"Kanny I know+ ho+w much these events trigger yo+u so+ (YN) here has vo+lunteered t+o accompany yo+u upstairs so+ no+ne o+f these no+ises bo+ther yo+u" she says flatly. Seemingly about to go on a rant Porimm covers his mouth and drags him to the stairs.
"Kanny I want to+ have fun to+night so+ go+ up there and sto+p lecturing everyo+ne" she instructs with a growl. It scared you a little to see her like this but you stayed calm none the less. The sweater wearing troll simply nods and Porimm smiles again.
"Go+o+d! And I do+not want to+ hear that yo+u just talked his ear o+ff all night" she pats your shoulder and walks into the party. You turn to Kankri and gesture to the steps. He nods and walks up with you following close behind.
"So uh, does she get angry like that often?" You ask quietly. Kankri sighs and nods,
"yes it w9uld seem i trigger her quite 9ften with my ranting. then again, every9ne seems to 6e triggered 6y it."
You could sense a tone of sadness in his voice as you both stood in your living room. He wasn't that much taller than you, you could say you two were basically the same height (if you're short I apologize) if you weren't side by side. Feeling a little bad for him you speak up,
"Ill listen to you"
At these words he stares at you in disbelief, but it quickly fades.
"thats what they all say" he mumbles crossing his arms.
"Ill really listen Kankri, I may not have the best memory but I wont doze off and I wont just sit there and stare at you. I will really listen" you say again, hoping your sincerity got through to him. Luckily it did and he smiled softly at you
"Thank you (YN)"
You smile back and sit on your couch, patting the seat not directly next to you but close enough to where you could hear him. He sits and faces you as you the same.
"d9 y9u have any questi9ns?" He asks in his usual calm tone. You ponder for a minute then nod,
"Yea actually, what was your home planet like if you don't mind me asking?"
You weren't sure if bringing up his home was a good idea or not but by the glint in his eye you assume its ok.
"ah 6ef9rus," he starts. Already you can tell that he's gonna be talking for a while, not that you mind. You listen to his words carefully as he talks with great passion of his world. A little into the 'conversation' your (ED) starts beeping a few times. You ignore it and so does Kankri, but then it just keeps beeping and beeping and beeping. Eventually you get fed up and take it out of your pocket, quickly silencing it.
"Sorry, my girlfriend is going on about something" you say apologetically.
"if y9ur matesprit is trying t9 get y9ur attenti9n sh9uldnt y9u resp9nd?" He asks clearly unfazed by the interruption. You shrug and sigh a little.
"She gossips a lot, nothing that cant wait" you respond smiling.
Surprised that you put him over your partner, Kankri nods and continues talking.
