Chapter 29

Elle's Pov
last day in the past ..

"guys can we stop for something to eat? I'm starving" nia says
we're currently on our way back home from our little friend get away and must I say we had an amazing time!

"yeah come, we're hungry" I add
"If it's not one minute someone's squished back there it's someone has to pee, now food" lee says
"hey" nia and I say in sync
Mat laughs "he isn't wrong"
Lee laughs "told ya"
I give him a serious look through the review mirror and once he see me he's shocked.
"Hey I'm just kidding, we'll stop up there" he says
"Um.." nia starts
"what?" I say
"Are you sure that's a good idea" she says

currently it's 2 in the morning so of course it's pretty dark and spooky in a way.
But we gotta get home sometime so if that involves driving during creepy hour, we gotta do it.

"don't worry" lee says
"yeah we're not gonna let you go in the store by yourselves" Mat says
Once we arrive to the store we all get out and go inside together.

each of us pick out a few snacks, a variety since I'm sure we'll be sharing. plus a few drinks.
We headed over and paid as we were walking nia grabbed my arm.

"I'm gonna use the bathroom before we go" she says
"Okay. I'll meet you in the car?" I say, questioning it
"cute. you think I'm going in there alone" she says
grabbing my arm, I laugh and go with her.

the boys did their business and went to the car so once we were finished we thought we'd do that same thing. But oddly enough on our way out this man was staring.

I nudged nia "do you see him"
"yes but I'm not trying to look" she whispers
"hey!" He shouts
dammit I think.
"Did you take something from my shelves?" He questions
"what no" nia answers
"I saw you, I saw you both" he says
"I'm sorry sir you but you have us confused with someone else" I say

Mat's Pov
"what are they doing in there?"
"nothing great since we aren't there" lee laughs
I can't help but laugh too.
"I'm gonna go check on them" I say
"I'll come with"

we both get out the car and head toward the store and notice almost a yelling sound.
I rush in nearly knocking the door off its hinges.

"What are you doing!?" I shout
lee charges at him and grabs nia and Elle.
"you don't touch women like that" I say
"they steal and don't give back" he says
"I can guarantee they didn't steal" I say pulling elle into my arms
"I'm reporting you and this nasty store to the cops"

we all then leaves holding our girls close we get into the car and turn on all the inside lights.

"Are you guys okay?" Lee asks
both him and I turned around.
Elle nods
"We're okay. He was just holding us waiting for police to come" nia says
"did you guys steal?" Lee asks
"No of course not" nia says
"He's an idiot" I say
"why would he even think that" lee says
"He must've saw me whisper to elle" nia says
"Elle why aren't you talking?" I ask
she shakes her head "that was just really uncomfortable"

I take elle hand into mine and kiss it. Reaching to the back I pull both the girls into a hug and reassure them lee and I will always protect them.

Later into the drive home we have barely an hour left. I drove some, so did nia and Elle as they insisted.
I sat in the back with Elle and looked into her beautiful eyes.

"I love you and I will forever" I say
"we'll never get broken apart" she says
"not ever" I smile
I lean in and press my lips against hers.
