retold~ the kissing booth

Chapter 2

it's currently ten am, I woke up pretty late but who cares it's Fourth of July. I get to see the fireworks tonight! Hopefully mom will be watching them too.

I make my way downstairs to smell some food that smells absolutely delicious, as I go into the kitchen it's my dad but he isn't alone.

"Mrs Flynn" I say kinda as a question
"Elle, good morning darling" she smiles
"Good morning Elle" says my dad
"Good morning what's going on" I say
"I thought we'd stop over for breakfast" she says
I smile big "we? Where are the boys"
she points out back and that's enough for me. I head over to the back door and see them sitting I then run out side and disrupt their peace.

"Boo!!" I shout
surprisingly scaring Noah and not lee, he jumps
"Elle" he shouts, laughing
"It's about time you woke up" lee says now standing up
"sorry. I didn't know you guys were here" I say
"Are you ready for tonight elle?" Noah ask me
I sit down next to Lee's chair then he sits as well.
I nod "I'm so ready!"
as I spoke dad and Mrs Flynn came out with our breakfast, she sat mine down and I noticed the eggs were yellow and not white. I dad a look and he mouthed 'sorry kiddo, eat what's good' he then smiled
"mm this is so good" lee says
"mm this is so good" Noah says, mocking lee
"quit it" lee shouts
"Or what?" Ask Noah
"Or.." lee starts but I finish
"Or nothing" I say.

All of a sudden I just felt weird. It happened a few times lately but I just couldn't take it the arguing. After saying what I did I looked down almost immediately feeling sad
"Elle are you alright" says lee
I nod
"No you aren't" Noah says coming over to me
"Tell us" lee kneels down to me, I look up
"Actually I don't know what's wrong, I'm sorry" I say
"Hey it's alright" lee takes my hand
"Maybe it's puberty" Noah says
Lee and I turn our heads to him quickly and in sync eyeing him.
"what" he says looking confused
"Shut up that's what" I then laugh and push his shoulder.
~later that night~

We are currently sitting in the grass by the bridge waiting for the show to start, honestly I can't wait I just love to see the color.
After a couple of minutes the show began and I looked up in awe.
"you like it?" My dad ask me
I nod "I love it"
He gives me a smile and pulls me into his arms
"Watching this reminds me of you" he says into my ear "good thing you're here or I would've been emotional"
I chuckle and kiss his check "I love you dad"
"I love you too" he pulls back and pushes my shoulder "kiddo"

after the fireworks are over we head over to our favorite restaurant.
My dad and Lee's mom sat on one side of the booth and myself lee and Noah sat across from them.
I ordered pot stickers which were my guilty pleasure, lee ordered fries and Mac & cheese and Noah ordered chicken. Our parents got salads.
The food soon arrived and we ate, as I finished my first bite I could taste how amazing these were, I ended up eating two trays.

We got in my dad's car and he drove us all to Lee's house so they could get home but on the way I just wasn't feeling it, uh oh I thought. Silently burping I make a fist over my mouth.

"Dad!" I say suddenly
"Elle" he says
"I'm not feeling to good" I say putting my other had on my stomach.
I was sitting in the middle so both Noah and lee looked at me from each side.
"I think she's gonna barf" Noah says
"Looks like it" lee says nervously
"Dad!" I shout
"Pulling over now sweet heart" he says

pulling his car over in the middle of the high way I jump up crawling over lee as I just couldn't hold anything in anymore, I began to vomit. Totally feeling embarrassed knowing I ate way to much today. My dad shuts the doors so he can talk to me once I've calmed down.

"Are you alright sweetheart?" He ask
"Yeah dad" I say not looking at him
"You clearly aren't" he says causing me to turn, he then motions to the ground
"I ate to much" I admit
"How about we head home and I'll take care of you tonight" he offers
I get back into the car this time by the window not looking at Noah or lee, once my dad gets in he hands me a plastic bag from his glove department.
Thanks dad if I wasn't feeling embarrassed before I definitely am now.

Once we pull off lee taps me, I look but very slowly as I was hesitate.
"yes" I mumble
"what happened? To much fun?" He ask
I then think why am I being like this we're family and he was being totally cool about it.
I nod then smile "definitely"
He pats my thigh once "it happens to us all"
Himself me and Noah began to laugh.

Soon we arrive to their house, as they get out the car we say our goodbyes. I think about the great night I had all the way home well maybe not all the way as I had fallen asleep, shockingly my dad carried me inside. Once he laid me in bed I woke up, he started to walk away.

"Wait dad" I say
"yeah?" My dad says
"Can I sleep with you tonight?" I ask my dad
He nods "Of course, there's always room for you"
After bathing I got into pajamas and laid in my dad's bed, he laid next to me on his computer.
My eyes trail off as they get heavy, my dad peaks out at me from the corner of his eye.
"Hey elle"
I turn to face him
"Goodnight" he says giving me a kiss on the head
"Goodnight" I mumble followed by a yawn.
Next thing I know I was sleeping and I felt good.
