"I grew up beside elves don't you remember?" He chocked out with a hint of betrayal in his voice as if he didn't believe me.

"There may be some things that Elrond chose not to tell you, Estel" I pulled back and looked into his eyes, still gripping his shoulders "now Mellon nin, you should head back to Gondor I am sure there are many faces that are looking for you"

"I wish to spend this day with you, I can tell that it pained you with my ignorance to you and I wish to make up for it"

"No Estel, I do not wish to burden you, please spend time with those of your people as I am sure that they are growing worried about your absence"

"You will never be a burden Legolas" he placed his jam on my shoulder "let us spend the day together" I smiled brightly at him and we began to walk through the forest.

"If you wish"

Legolas's PoV:

(I'm sorry that I haven't changed PoV in a while but it will change in this chapter somewhere or the next chapter bc I made this one longer. Anyway on with the story)

We passed many more trees, walking to nowhere in particular for it was Aragorn who was leading the way. I had explored these forests many times before but each time I entered I found a new surprise waiting for me...today happened to be a lake.

I shivered, still able to feel the coldness of the water that penetrated my skin. I scolded myself for jumping into that lake, I did not fully comprehend how uncomfortable the cold really was at that moment. Somehow though the coldness was a distraction from all of the heartbreak, it soothes me and tore my mind away from the truth that my mind was giving me. If I was dry then it would feel like I was still in that lake...drowning while everyone else was on the shore smiling and having the times of there lives. It was something too painful to think about, which I didn't wish to think about.

"Legolas shouldn't you change? You can go back to your chambers, I would happily wait" Aragorn offered.

"Have you heard nothing of the stubbornness of elves? Besides as I have said before,...I cannot feel the cold" I lied.

"Well you seem to be" he placed his hand on mine and I shivered at the warmness but it was a pleasurable warmness that filled my body "do I worry too much about you, Legolas?"

A blush filled my cheeks and I turned my head to cover it "I think that it is fair to say that you do" the warmness of his hand left me and I was left empty again, fireless. "Where are we walking to Aragorn?"

"Somewhere" He said smugly.

"How descriptive"

"I wish to surprise you" he said ignoring the sarcasm in my voice. He smirked and walked forwards, leaving me confused. Surely he knows that I have explored these forests before?
