~previously~

I stood at the entrance to Aragon's tomb, he had been buried the day after he was killed. Laonri had been imprisoned before I could kill him much to my dismay. It was all a mystery as to why laonri did it and he wouldn't speak a word not even to himself.

I placed my hand against the cold stone wall that separated me from Aragorn's decaying body, desperately trying to connect with his lifeless body. Memories flooded my mind and I let tears fall "A-Aragorn, I don't know if you can hear me but things have not been going well since you died. A-Arwen..." I broke down on the floor and let the tears helplessly fall from my eyes "Ar-Arwen died in her sleep. I know you told me to continue living but I can't without you. I cannot live without you. You were the only reason I had to live and I already know that I am dying. You can't do this to me you can't make me suffer. I have no one left!" I shouted and continued to cry uncontrollably, tears falling onto the grass below me.

"Aragorn...I'm a-sorry" I pulled the dagger out of my hidden pocket and placed it against my wrist, pressing down blood began to ooze out and many distant footsteps and screams were heard but I didn't care. I did the same to my other wrist and suddenly everything became blurry.

Then silence...

3rd person PoV:

In the darkness of Dol Guldor, a man stood, his face covered by a cloak he had been wearing throughout his journey to protect his identity. The silence was eerily quiet and made the hairs on the man's arms stand up in fear of what was to come, or who. He shifted his feet deciding to disturb the silence "You called for me?"

A mass of darkness in the air floated towards him, in a few heartbeats it transformed into a man. The horse voice of the mysterious figure spoke up "You are a guard of Gondor, correct?"

"That is right" He answered.

"Then I have a task"

"F-For me?" He stuttered.

"For you, yes"

"What is the task?" He asked curiously.

"I keep my plans to myself" The man's hands began to shake.

"But h-"

"I will replace you as the guard"

"You look nothing like me" The hooded man implied.

"That can be changed"

"You don't mean-" He was cut off.

"Your time has come, you have been a loyal servant of me" His deep voice spoke eerily calmly.

"I have been loyal to you in every way, you said that if I followed all of your orders than you would let me live!" He shouted.

"And I did. You can live in the world of the dead" The hooded man took a step back in shock.

"I won't let you" The figure sighed.

"Okay" The superior man, held out his hand and circled his hand into a peculiar shape, making the cloaked man hold onto his neck, struggling to breath "Any last words? No? okay" He clenched his hand and threw the man against the wall. The hood of his cloak fell down revealing his identity, it was Laonri.

The man smiled down at the body of laonri and sat down next to him, touching his arm his body morphed into a living figure of the guard.

The copy walked out of the ruin, leaving the corpse behind he muttered to himself "Your life is coming to an end, the ranger of the north"

3 years later...

The man stared down at the child in his arms, the child that would be apart of him and be immortal to anything, never to die. Oh, how I hope she will turn out like me, a creature that controls the world through a simple power of morphing. He thought. Mei's red eyes stared up at the creature with fear and started to cry "Don't cry, I don't allow my heirs to be weak"

The creature stared down at the king that was yet still to die, his eyes glazed with madness "Have fun in the afterlife" He reached out his hand and Aragorn scurried back, beginning to weaken through his wounds "I rule now" As his hands went mere inches from Aragorn, loud footsteps could be heard and the man ran to hide underneath the bed.

He heard weeping and talking and then the sound of people screaming and someone pleading to stay. Everything went quiet. The creature stood out from his hiding place and walked towards the guards. He knew that there was no hope, they had taken the body so he decided he should give his daughter a chance to have the world in her hands.

He approached the guards and tapped one of them on the shoulder, the guard turned around and his eyes widened, looking from the blood on his clothes to the dagger in his hand "I was the one who killed him" His face filled with rage and he grabbed onto the mans shoulders, dragging him to an empty cell. He smiled.

The present...

The creature sat in his cell, softly humming to himself with no sign of discomfort. The guard standing outside looked around in confusion at the noise "Why are you so happy? You are sat in a cell"

"Yes, I realise that I am sat in a cell and I also realise that you are talking to me which by law you are not allowed to do" His head shot back around to its original position and he continued to hum.

"What song are you humming to?" The guard asked.

"I need a new guard"

"Why won't you allow me to talk to you?"

"Because I don't need to talk to you" The creature knew the reason behind his kind behaviour, his very presence could brainwash the minds around him, that is how he had gotten so close to Arwen, so close that he was able to have a child with her.

It was a very easy task to escape the cell but if he escaped he would never be allowed back into the city again in his form as he could only morph into someone else if he touches a corpse of a lifeless body. Besides, he would rather brainwash the mind of his daughter to do his work if she ever visited in the future.
