Copter's POV
At the sound of Kimmon's voice, I quickly let go of Earth's hand or was it Earth who dropped my hand first.
At any rate, we both turned our heads sharply towards Kimmon. Earth seemed to be just as startled as I was when Kimmon spoke up. I wanted to kick myself for how I felt embarrassed when I knew I shouldn't be. I hated how my neck was starting to grow warm from the rush of blood growing upward from my chest upwards to my neck and farther up to my face.
I glanced surreptitiously at Earth. I saw a pink tinge on his face as well. Yes, he had forgotten all about Kimmon's presence as well but he did his best to overcome the awkward moment.
"Yes, of course, I am your marketing manager," Earth replied, walking closer to Kimmon's bed. "You own KV Garments, Incorporated and you are the CEO of your company as well. Our main model for our line of men's clothing is New Thitipoom to whom you are engaged to be married next month."
Kimmon buried his face in his hands, shaking his head continuously.
I turned to Earth and held his elbow lightly.
"All the information you are giving him might be too much for him to handle at this time. Why don't you save it for another day," I suggested to him.
"Okay, Dr. K, you might be right, I won't give him any further information," Earth agreed immediately.
He was looking at my lips as he was talking and I knew that I was blushing because I felt myself getting warm under my collar once more. Dammit why did Earth have this effect on me.
I wanted to ask Earth a few questions about Kimmon's fiance but I did not want to do so in the presence of Kimmon.
"Mr. Wasat... Wasit..." it was my turn to feel embarrassed at not being able to get his last name right.
"Just call me Earth," he said with a laugh, "I know my last name is a mouthful as well and I don't want you twisting your tongue around it."
I felt myself blushing again. The hell is wrong with me???
"Earth, then," I said a bit shyly, "do you think I could talk to you in my office for a few minutes?"
"Of course!" Earth said eagerly, "lead the way, Dr.K!"
I turned to Kimmon.
"Mr. Varodom, would you please excuse me and Earth for a few minutes?"
"Where are you guys going?" Kimmon asked with a pout, his lips looking so kissable. Wait, what the heck, Copter. I scolded myself for allowing my thoughts to run into the unthinkable.
"I would like to speak with your marketing manager for a few minutes in my office, is that alright?"
"Don't take too long," Kimmon said, still pouting. He looked like a little boy who had just been denied a treat.
"We won't," I promised and it seemed to pacify Kimmon a little bit because he did not protest any further.
I turned to Earth.
"Please come with me," I said walking out of the room.
Earth turned to Kimmon, saying, "Excuse us, please."
Then he followed me, closing the door of Kimmon's room after him.
I went to where the row of elevators were and pressed the up arrow button.
When an elevator that was going up opened, I held the door and motioned for Earth to walk inside. After he walked in, I stepped inside and pressed the ninth button.
The elevator door was still open and we both leaned forward to press the "close door" button. In so doing our bodies bumped slightly against each other.
I heard him draw in his breath sharply.
We both said, "I'm sorry" at the same time.
Although the elevator was wide and spacious, we found ourselves standing close enough for the sides of our arms to be touching.
I could smell the faint scent of his cologne. It was making my heart race faster than usual.
'Calm down, Copter', I scolded myself, 'focus on your job. The purpose of speaking with Earth in private is to help Kimmon regain his memory. Don't allow yourself to get attracted to Earth. It will not be a good idea. Not a good idea at all.'
When we reached the ninth floor, we both walked out the elevator and when I reached my office, I took out the key to my door.
For some reason, I was finding it hard to fit the key into the hole. I hated myself that I was fumbling so much with the key. It had never happened to me before.
Shit, I dropped the key and as I bent to retrieve it from the floor, Earth had done the same and both our hands landed on the key.
Earth turned to me, our faces very close, our lips almost touching.
