Earth's POV

I drove the company SUV to the front of the hospital lobby where the orderly was waiting to help my boss Kimmon out of his wheelchair and into the vehicle.

The orderly's hand was resting lightly on Kimmon's shoulder. Did I just imagine it, but did the orderly look sad to see Kimmon leaving?

I loaded Kimmon's belongings into the back of the SUV and watched as the orderly tried to hold Kimmon by the waist to help him stand up from his wheelchair but Kimmon waved him away, insisting that the could do so by himself.

The orderly however lingered by his side until Kimmon was safely and comfortably seated on the passenger seat.

Kimmon patted the orderly's shoulder and tried to give him a generous tip but the orderly refused it, and I'm not sure if I had just imagined it but the orderly seemed to be teary eyed as he whispered to Kimmon, "I'm gonna miss you."

What the hell. Wait, holy shit, had the orderly developed a crush on my boss? Well, I wouldn't be surprised. Kimmon has that kind of aura, that kind of animal magnetism that draws people to him regardless of gender, race or creed.

I wouldn't be surprised if his very own doctor, Dr. K, had fallen for him as well.

But if Kimmon did not feel the same way for Dr. K, I wouldn't mind going after Dr. K myself.

Dr. K has his own quiet magnetism, and his dimples, oh lord, his dimples that appear whenever he smiles, how could anyone not fall for that?

Dr. K had tried to discharge Kimmon from his services, since Kimmon has now recovered all of his memory but Kimmon had insisted on retaining him for his follow up visits.

Dr. K had tried to explain that, first of all, his follow up visits had to be with Dr. Sukharangsan, his primary care physician, who would need to assess his complete physical recovery from the injuries he had sustained from his road accident.

And second of all, Dr. K was not even his official psychiatrist. He had just been substituting for the head psychiatrist who was in Geneva for an international conference for psychiatrists.

My bull headed boss, though, doesn't know the meaning of the word NO. He conceded that he was going to do his follow up visits with Dr. Sukharangsan, his primary care physician, but he also wanted to have his follow up visits with Dr. K.

"Kimmon," Dr. K had tried to explain to my boss as patiently as he could, "I have no more reason to see you ... (I could see the dark frown starting to form on my boss' face) ... if I insisted on seeing you I could face charges of medical fraud because I will be receiving payments from your insurance company for unnecessary visits."

I could see not just the dark frown forming, but a stubborn look creeping into my boss' face. I could tell that Dr. K was going to be up against a hard wall of resistance.

My boss drew a sharp audible breath before declaring, "Dr. K, how about I set up an appointment with you, not as a patient but as a friend."

Did I just imagine the redness that appeared on the neck and cheeks of Dr. K?

"I ... I ... I'm not ... I'm not sure that I'm ... my schedule is ... is ... "

I had never heard a doctor stammering before, the way that Dr. K was stammering right now.

Nurse Julie who had been standing behind Dr. K and who had been quiet throughout the exchange between my boss and his doctor, suddenly spoke up.

"Dr. K, I have your week's schedule in my clipboard right now. You are actually free tomorrow, because tomorrow is your day off." Nurse's Julie's voice sounded very determined.

"How do you know that I had nothing planned for my day off," Dr. K asked defiantly, not wanting to be dissuaded by Nurse Julie.

"I just know," Nurse Julie replied cheekily.

"Dr. K, please," Kimmon was pleading now,  and at the same time seemingly getting some encouragement from the fact that Nurse Julie was obviously on his side. "I really would like to invite you to my residence for dinner tomorrow evening, just as a token of appreciation for your excellent and efficient medical service. Since you have discharged me from your services, we no longer have a doctor-patient relationship, so it would not be considered as an inappropriate behavior on your part."

"That's settled then," Nurse Julie piped up immediately, before Dr. K could decline any further, "I will block off all your evening activities for tomorrow."

"Shut up, Juliet," said Dr. K, but not in a way that looked like he was snapping at her, "since when did you become my personal secretary?"

I caught my boss giving Nurse Julie a wink of appreciation and I saw Nurse Julie wink back at him in acknowledgment.

Dr. K had seen the secret exchange between Nurse Julie and Kimmon as well.

Dr. K had helplessly stood up from his desk chair and said, "Very well, secretary Juliet, since you seem to have taken on an additional responsibility, I will let you take care of this whole thing which you seem to have arranged for me from the get go."

I saw Nurse Julie clench her fist, bringing it down forcefully, accompanied with a "Yyyaaasss!"
