Are You There?

I had a visit with you old friend, on this day.
Not a word was spoken for our thoughts were fray.
We use to be close but by work and hearts we were pushed apart and pulled away.

I heard kind words to a 'loving man'.
Soft words from friends as they all preached.

I could tell by your bored looking face,
That these kind, smokey words never reached.

It's been 4 years since the last time we would meet.
Since then you tried to link up, though I was too busy with me.
I heard you attempted to get the crew together;
To bring back the good times when we were risky and free.

We are here now. Can you see?
This is not how it was suppose be.
We were suppose to drink together;
Them, you and I
On this day...
Instead we are pouring liquor on the ground where you lie.
We never left you! We were just...
Now you're deceased.
You left us.
My old friend,
Rest In Peace.
