Loved But Left In The Wild

We fell in autumn
Me and Lisa May.
A love that would cost many
In the township of Tay.

Both shattered
Needing form
And our scatterbrains sorted.

We were there for one another,
She leaned on me
While I supported.

She loved me
More than any
That I have ever met.

She knew
My deepest, darkest, inner thoughts
And secrets that I've kept.

But playing with
Her jealous ways
Would only be my regret,

As she would paint
The shadows Red
Of all who became a threat...

Me and Lisa at corner store
Picking up snacks and captain blacks.
I teased a hungry smile to the clerk,
She flashed me one right back.

Her blushed cheeks,
Blue bubble gum,
Hoops hanging off her ears,

Platinum blonde,
Tight blue jeans,
Ballooning up her rear.

Punched into my side
From my Baby,
Her discomfort was very clear.

The next morning...
Lisa's eyes were sad
As she stood absorbed in fear

While on the news,
Floating in a bay
Was that cashier.

I screamed,
I yelled,
I hurt her
Though she's the only thing I love so dear.

So we grabbed our bags
And gassed up,
Drove to her friend's crib out of town.

A doll named Rose
Let us in,
Her parents were not around.

We laughed,
We drank some cold ones,
After some X's and some O's,

A couple lines,
A running nose,
Then off with our clothes.

And Rose ....
I hugged her for being pretty,
I kissed her for being sweet,
I kissed her some more to make her noisy,
26 inches above her feet.

Lisa May's dilated pupils gazed
As I took her friend away.
Rose was licking tulips
Like she was addicted to the taste.

All drained
And out of uppers,
We downed into the sheets.

Both girls rubbing my chest,
I closed my eyes
And fell asleep.

Awake...
My head;
A marching band.
I heard my baby bawling.

I sat up
Reached to brush her tears,
She pulled away
As if I was appalling.

And then, I saw it
On the floor.
A tiny bloodied blade
On the Persian rug,
Where the still body
Of her best friend laid.

The blood...
The wire around her neck,
The deep cuts to her porcelain face,
The thumping sound,
And spinning thoughts,
The closing walls within my space.

I begged
My baby
"Please tell me why?
Tell me what you've done".

She cried
Into my forgiving hug,
I held her until we met the rising sun.

She fell
Into the darkness,
What had my love become?

I took Rose
To the garden
Put her deep inside the mud,
I arranged the dahlias and the dragons breath
So it didn't look undone.

Cocooned in a blanket
I carried Lisa
To my borrowed car.

She looked back
At the garden breathing in,
Then exhaled
"Baby, drive me far".

Days fall...
But no one is forgetting,
The bodies added to the missing ones.

I'm wanted
For all the killings
Because I was last seen with some.

Dubbed The Lady Killer,
From the township of Tay.
I never killed these women
Though for all I dug the grave.

On an early quite morning
I left my baby in a wrecked hotel.
After a robbery that went wrong
The sheriff caught me and took me to jail.

To save my love,
I told the good cop she was kidnapped
And was scared of what she saw.
I told the bad cop
That his wife is next,
He broke my fucking jaw.

So as the Lady Killer of Tay...
As I slurred a full confession to each and every murder,
To save my baby Lisa May
So they would never hurt her.

I loved her but I left her,
Into the wild where she stays.
I will never get out of this punishing place
Though we may meet another way.
