"She tried to kiss you?!" Hayley squealed, which made Coley pull the phone from her ear a little.
"You obviously only listened to half of my story. It could've been in my head, maybe I just really wanted her to..." Coley admitted and softly took her bottom lip between her teeth. She hadn't admitted that out loud yet, and it felt weird. Coley felt relieved when the words left her mouth, but at the same time very guilty.
Coley was glad her dad stormed in and unknowingly stopped her from making a huge mistake. But at the same time, she really wanted to know what Sonya's lips would feel like against hers...
"Oh, shut up! She's into you, a dead rat can see that."
"I hope not, cause Trenton and my dad are smarter than dead rats." Coley sighed.
She didn't even know if her brother and his girlfriend made up yet, after their falling out.
"Do you have a way to contact her? You should ask her out for drinks. The three of us, of course." Hayley softly chuckled. "Otherwise she might think you're asking her out, out."
Coley didn't like the fact that Hayley knew about the thoughts and feelings she was having towards Sonya, and she hated that Hayley was encouraging her about it. She wanted someone to hold her back and tell her how wrong it was. Not only because Sonya was a girl, but more because Sonya already was in a relationship, with her brother for that matter.
"I don't think I should..." Coley started. "It's not ethical of me to pursue this." Coley had been trying to take her distance, but she couldn't get herself to avoid the girl.
"Let's go get a coffee then." Coley could hear the smirk in Hayley's voice and shook her head, even though the girl could not see her. "I'll meet you there." Hayley decided, when Coley didn't respond within two seconds. Before Coley could argue, Hayley ended the call and Coley was left hearing a dull tone from her phone.

When Coley arrived at the coffee shop, Hayley was already waiting for her outside.
Coley made the mistake of looking through the glass door and looked right at Sonya, working at the counter.
Coley's feelings were torn between wanting to run the other way and wanting to run towards the girl and hug her as tight as she could.
She did neither as her body was frozen by just seeing the girl in her natural habitat. Working, while she didn't know Coley was there. Smiling sweetly at every customer, even though it was a different smile from what Coley had gotten used to, she loved to see it way too much.
Whenever Coley got too close to Sonya, or only just saw her, hell, even when she could feel that the girl was in her presence, her thoughts and feelings would take over.
"So... Are we gonna go in and actually order something or do you want to keep standing here and stare at her from afar?" Hayley's voice broke Coley's thoughts, and she felt her cheeks get warm.
She didn't even know what to answer to that. Parted of her wanted to run away and stay as far away from the girl as possible. The other part, the winning part, wanted to see the girl as often as possible and get to know everything there was to know about her.
"I could really use a coffee." Coley answered and at that Hayley pulled her inside with a wide smirk on her face.
Once they were inside, Coley's body felt tense. It almost felt sneaky, being here, watching Sonya, without her knowing. But they weren't being sneaky at all. As soon as Sonya would look around or even look up a little she would spot the pair.
They joined in at the back of the line, but it was a short line.
Sonya looked up at Coley, immediately catching each other's eyes. Coley sent her a smile and swept a loose strand of hair behind her air.
Once it was their turn to order, Coley suddenly felt very self-aware. Hayley told her to meet her here and Coley hadn't thought about redressing or putting on some make-up...
But she shouldn't. She should be friends with Sonya, nothing more than that. She was with her brother, and Coley was cool with that. It was none of her business.
"How've you been?" Coley asked and mentally slapped herself. She literally saw her yesterday, but she though it would be too blunt to ask if she'd already make up with Trenton.
"We're good." Sonya answered, as if she was reading Coley's mind. Coley's mind wandered of to how bad it would be if the barista in front of her could actually read her mind, how fucked she would be if that were the case.
She felt Hayley and Sonya's eyes on her with anticipation in them. "Wha..- Oh!" She realized where they were and looked around her for a second. Luckily it wasn't that crowded and no one was waiting behind them to also order something.
"Two coffees please." Coley recovered quickly and paid for them.
While handing Sonya the money, Coley deliberately stroked Sonya's hand, which made her look up at her. A hint of surprise on her face.
"We should." Coley told her, but realized she needed to clarify, seeing the confused expression on Sonya's face. "Hang out again, soon." Coley told her with a smirk.
She basically promised her yesterday that she would, as long as Sonya'd make up with her brother first, which she did.
"I would like that." Sonya answered in a hoarse whisper and walked away, motioning Coley to wait for her. Not more than a few seconds later, Sonya came back with a coaster, with branding from the coffee shop on it, in her hand. She bent over and wrote something on it.
She scooched the coaster over to Coley.
When Coley picked it up, she figured out Sonya wrote her phone number on it.
Coley's smile widened at the realization. She looked the girl straight in the eyes. "I'll send you my schedule." She looked away for a second and repressed the urge to take her bottom lip between her teeth. "But I feel like I must have some time to squeeze you in." She finished looking right at the girl.
Coley turned on her heel and wanted to walk away, seeming way more confident than she felt at this point.
"I'm sure you'll make time." Coley heard the words behind her and couldn't suppress a grimace to form on her face. Coley didn't turn around, quickly grabbed her coffee and walked to a table in the back of the coffee shop, where Hayley was waiting for her.
