"Bitch."
His voice sounds behind me as I slam my locker door shut. I spin around and watch as the ass called Xavier Woodley keeps walking down the hall.
"Dickhead." I call after him. He turns around and smirks at me. That infuriating smirk. Apparently most girls find it sexy or something but honestly, it is the most infuriating thing in the world.
I start off in the opposite direction heading towards the cafeteria. As if double maths isn't bad enough, having to deal with that asshole straight after algebra is worse than meeting the devil himself, oh wait except I do meet the devil everyday. In the form of Xavier Woodley! What the hell did I do in another life to have to put up with him?
The cafeteria is packed like normal I scan the crowded table until I find the one person who truly understands my anger. My one and only best friend, the overly sassy and loud Sophie Killian. I make my way over to her, needless to say she is sitting alone, like always. For some reason the fact that Xavier and I are at each other's throats seems to stop people wanting to sit with us. Funny that.
"URGH." I slam my head down on the table.
"Jeez Carlene, be careful you almost knocked over my lemonade with that insanely large head of yours." I peek up at Sophie through my mess of knots and curls, that apparently is my hair.
"Not in the mood." I groan.
"Ahh, is the idiot up to his old tricks again." A mischievous twinkle lights up in Sophie's eye.
"And straight after double maths!"
"There, there darlin'. Personally you should be pleased he's not in double maths with you."
Since the one year in kindergarten that Xavier and I were put in the same class, we haven't been together since. Heck, not once since high school started have we even been in one of the same classes. NEVER. I must have classes with every other fricking kid in the grade but NEVER with him, which I am quite thankful for. I think it might have something to do with the fact that our kindergarten teacher retired at the end of the year after having to deal with us fighting everyday. That may not sound like that big of a deal but let me tell you something. She was 27. Yep, Retired at 27. We were some crazy kids.
"Why does he have to be so infuriating?" I sit up glaring at him as he walks through the doors of the cafeteria. As if feeling my eyes on him, he turns in my direction his eyes lock with mine. I hold his gaze, knowing full well that his face mirrors my own disgust.
"Slut." His voice rings out loud and clear through the cafeteria. All noise dies down. "How many boys did you sleep with his weekend?"
I roll my eyes at him. The cafeteria is so silent that you could hear a pin drop. Heck, you can here each individual person breathing. Even the cafeteria ladies have stopped serving and are watching this scene. Some of them look worried like they should intervene before it gets out of hand, while others are literally beaming like they're favourite TV show just came on.
"Whatever manwhore, you know I don't have anything to do with any boys. What about you? Are mummy and daddy annoyed that you spent another $1000 on condoms this month?" A small snickering arouses. There's a few 'ooh burns' but I really don't care.
I notice Xavier bite back another remark and just walk over to the line of people waiting for lunch, and just like that the talking starts up again like nothing ever happened.
I still can't believe you are enemies with the hottest guy and bachelor in the school." Sophie looks at me her face full of awe.
"Sophie Grace Killian! How dare you suggest that the thing is hot!"
