"Virgil, what happened?" Patton yelled, grabbing the other's face.
Virgil pulled away. "I'm fine; really, I am. I promise."
Logan crossed his arms. "He won't leave you be until he receives a satisfying answer."
Virgil glanced behind him, smiling when he saw someone enter the lunch room. "Ya' know, Lo, a distraction might work just the same."
The person neared the group until he stood right next to Virge. He leaned down slightly and kissed the other's lips.
Patton gasped until he began to cough.
Virgil leaned into the man. "Guys, meet Roman; Roman, meet Patton, Logan, Valerie, Talyn..." He pointed to each of them, a small smile playing on his lips.
"You're really happy, aren't you?" Patt asked.
He nodded.
Though it'd only been two weeks of them talking, Virgil already felt so close to Roman--like they'd known each other for a year, at least. He was happy--truthfully, genuinely so. Now that he was staying with Roman and his father indefinitely, it felt nice to be part of a family.
"Hey," Roman whispered into his ear, "you alright?"
Virge snapped out of his trance. "Yeah, I'm fine. Just happy."
