Love Will Remember {Sequel to ATB}

Chapter 5

Today is my day off, and I have nothing to do. Peter was called in today, which sucks because we were supposed to go out for lunch. I'm just sitting on the couch with nothing to do. I decide to go surprise him since, he didn't take lunch, and he won't be taking a break. I'll just take him something to eat. I go change quickly, and head for the hospital.

I pay the taxi driver, and thank him. I walk in the hospital, and make my way to the radiology wing. I walk in, he's doing a MRI. I stand back and see him, he's telling the patient not to move. Beyonce's Halo is playing and this song can perfectly describe how I feel about him. I smile, he's so into his work. I love that about him, among other things. All I can think about is the time I showed him how to do an Ultrasound. It was so nice, thank god the patient was nice enough to let me.

** Flashback**

"Are you ok, with me showing our new technician the basics." I ask the patient, she nods, and smiles. I think she likes him. Well that makes two of us girlfriend, but you're pregnant so you better stop. I reach to get the probe, and put a gel on the patients belly. She's here to find out the sex of her baby. I love when I get patients that are pregnant. I love to see them happy, and excited to find out what they are having. I motion Peter over to me, he stands next to me, and I hand him the probe.

"All you have to do, is start at the bottom. Look at the screen, and that's where you'll know what part of the baby you're looking at. Then after you figure it out, start to move the probe around." He puts the probe on the patient, but presses too hard. I stop him, I don't want him to hurt the baby, or the patient. "Here let me do this one. You can do the next one, ok." I look at him, and he looks sad. Oh Peter come on. He smiles after, and I begin with the ultrasound.

The first thing we can hear is the healthy sound of the babies heartbeat echoing through the small room.

"Peter put your hand over mine, that way you can get a sense of how much pressure you need to put." I turn to look at him. He nods, and does as I told him. His hand is warm, and he gives mine a slight squeeze. I small smile plays on his face. I move the probe around the patients belly, and find the babies hands. I will never not find this cute, seeing the babies small little hands and legs. The baby opens and closes his hand, almost like if it were say bye. I turn to look at Peter and he looks fascinated by it. The patient smiles at him. I continue to move the probe, I find the area of the sex of the baby. I press the zoom button, and I begin to see that it's a she. I take a picture, and zoom out, and take a couple more. I mark where the sex of the of baby is and take more pictures of it.

"Well it looks like you're having a baby girl." I smile at the patient. She frowns and looks at the monitor.

"Are you sure it's a girl?" she questions me.

"Yes, I'm 110% sure it's a girl. Are you not happy with the sex of the baby?" I frown at her. When I tell pregnant women the sex of their baby they cry. But this mom is different, she looks scared to be having a girl.

"It's not that I'm not happy, but my husband made it clear he wanted a boy." She wipes her tears off her cheeks. Oh this is not good.

"Oh, I'm sorry." is all I can manage to say. What more can someone say in a situation like this. I wish I could give her the advice my mom used to give her friends, but I can't. I'm not allowed to, it was in the rules. I wipe the gel off her belly, and Peter helps her sit up. "Here are the pictures, you can go ahead leave when you're ready." I give her a small smile. Peter and I walk out.

"How can someone demand a boy? It's a fifty-fifty chance." he says as he leans on the counter. I shrug.

** End of Flashback**

"Love, what are you doing here?" he takes me out of my thoughts. I smile and shrug.

"I've missed you, and I brought you lunch." I motion over to the bag of Subway. Before I came here I went to the Subway in front of the hospital. He rubs his hands together, and walks over to get his sub.

"No, mayo?" I nod. "Extra pepperchinis?" I nod. "Light on the mustard?" I nod again. "This is why I love you women. You know how I like my subs." I smile at his words. How can I not know how he likes his sub, I like mine the same way. I get my sub too and sit next to him behind the glass wall. He clears the paper that are in front of me. We start to eat and half way through our totally romantic lunch he turns to look at me.

"Babe, I was wondering if you can come with me to a family reunion this weekend?" His tone is a bit unsure. Family reunion? "Well it's more of a celebration of my cousin who past away." I furrow my eyebrows at him. They throw a celebration over a cousins death? Um ok that's totally normal.

"Celebration?" I raise my eyebrows.

"Yeah, well sort of. Like my cousin was a very energetic, happy go lucky person. So every year we throw this big family reunion, well my dads sister does." he explains.

"Yeah, I love to go. That way I meet your family." I smile. "How did your cousin die?" I ask.

"She was out with my cousin, her brother, and they were followed by a guy, who my cousin owed money too. He was armed and so was my cousin, so the guy took ahold of Jessica. The guy had a knife on her neck. My cousin thought he had it all figured out on how to get Jessica out of the guys hands, but ended stabbing her instead of the guy." I gasp, oh my how horrible. Trying to save his sister he ended up killing her. How sad. "But yeah, it's been three years since her death. It's about to be four this Saturday." he frowns. I reach out and hold his hand.

"Did you guys get along well?"

"Yeah, she was my favorite cousin." I nod. "But I can't wait for you to meet my family. I know they're going to love you." I smile at him. I hope they do. My family loves him. Well my parents, we don't get alone with my family family. We finish eating, and he gets back to work as I stand back and watch him do what he knows best. I swear he looks so sexy when he's in his zone. I'm a lucky bitch to have him with me.
