Found growing most commonly in the Lorieh fields, Fiffin is a popular snack or breakfast food.
There are two types of Fiffin, both are edible.
Pudding Fiffin:
Pudding Fiffin is a reddish orange color when is is underripe, but turns a more orange-yellow color when ready to eat. The unusual fruit has a thick, waxy membrane around the inside that is often eaten as a remedy for an upset stomach. At the center is the actual "fruit". It is creamy in texture with a flavor that strongly resembles strawberries. This tends to be eaten as, you guessed it, a pudding! It can be eaten with other snack items or on its own.
Berry Fiffin:
Berry fiffin is an intense magenta color on the outside, while the berries themselves are a very pale pink. The berries are suspended in a jelly like substance and a thin, flexible membrane. Both the membrane, gel, and fruit are edible, though the membrane has a more diluted taste.
The berries have a texture similar to gushers with a chewy outside and a gooey center. The entire berry tastes like caramel. These are generally eaten by themself.
The gel is characterized by a more peppermint-like flavor, and is primarily used in making candies and drinks.
The membrane has a fairly muted mint flavor. It is generally used for toppings in desert recipes.
