Note: Loars are cannibalistic, so it is far from uncommon to see one eating another.

Loars travel alone for the most part.
Females are incredibly territorial towards other females.
Mating:
Males will court a female by bringing them the largest thing they can kill as an offering. This can end up going one of two ways for the male. If the kill does not meet the female's expectations, the female will generally eat the failed suitor. However, should the offering be deemed sufficient by the female, they will immediately mate with each other.
The male will remain with the female until their offspring is old enough to live on their own.
A female will usually have more that one mate, the largest recorded group being 8 males to one female. All of them help rear young while the female gathers food for everyone.
Appearance:
Loars do have feathers, but they are so small that they look more like a poofy fuzz than feathers. Their shovel-like nose is used to dig into the burrows of Ryplaenti and insects.
