Queen IsabellaDecember 26th, 1540
I have been in labor for almost a day now. I let out a cry in pain as I held my stomach.
"Greer!" I called out and I felt hands grab mine.
"Bella! Bella, open your damn eyes!" I heard her say and I let out a whine.
"Oh good lord, why won't this child come?" I cried out as I felt Aylee sit next to me and dab my forehead.
"The physician says the baby is almost here. Just please hold on." Aylee said as she smiled at me.
"Do not ever have children. It gets worse each time." I said and she let out a laugh.
I watched Kenna open the door and both Mary and Elizabeth walked inside.
"Mother!" Lizzie said but Mary held her back.
"Bella? Are you alright?" Mary asked and I sighed.
"This child just does not want to come. I only have a couple of hours before Henry has to choose." I whispered as I gripped Greer's hand.
"Choose? Choose what?" She asked as she stepped forward.
"Whether mother lives or the baby does," Elizabeth said and I shook my head.
Before I could say anything I felt another pain. Greer let go of my hand before she checked under the blanket.
"I see the head. Bella, you must push. Elizabeth come over here. Mary go and hold her hand. Lola prepares the blankets and Kenna get the water." Greer instructed.
"Are we not supposed to wait for the physician?" Mary asked as she climbed on the bed.
"Not when my best friends life is in danger." Greer hissed as she pushed the blanket and my nightgown up.
"Bella push!" She said and I held onto Mary's hand and pushed as hard as I could. I fell backward and Aylee dabbed my head.
"This child better be a good one," I said and Mary laughed as she held her own swollen button. She was due in three months.
"Push again! The head is out." Elizabeth said with a smile on her face.
I held onto Mary's hand and pushed myself onto my elbows and held onto my knees. I pushed as hard as I could before Greer yelled stop.
"There's blood." She whispered but I shook my head.
"How much longer? I can't do this no more." I cried out as I watched Mary pull out her rosary and begin praying.
"Dear Lord, anoint this mother's body. That she may have a safe and healthy delivery." She began and I sighed.
"The shoulders and stomach are out. All that is left is the legs. You are bleeding." Greer said but I shook my head.
"This baby needs to be born," I said as I pushed again. I heard a cry filled the air and I leaned back in relief.
"What is it?" I asked as Mary rushed to get Henry.
"It is a boy! Bella, you have another son!" Elizabeth said as she placed a white hat on the baby's head and wrapped him in a white blanket.
I let out a small laugh as she placed him on my chest.
"Oh, hello Arthur. Arthur Charles Peter Henry." I whispered before the door burst open and Henry came in.
"I thought you died!" He said as he fell onto his knees next to be the bed.
"No, our son just wanted to be ready." I whispered and Henry stared at me.
"Son? It's a boy?" He asked and I nodded as I lifted up Arthur.
"Arthur Charles Peter Henry. Our son." I said and Henry chuckled as he took Arthur out of my arms and bounced him softly.
"Oh, Bella. He is so beautiful." Henry said and I nodded before Kenna began opening the window curtains.
"Since he was born in Denmark we must present him to the people on the balcony next week," I said and Henry nodded.
"Can you get one of your ladies to get Edward and the twins?" He asked and I nodded before I motioned to Lola who walked out of my chambers.
Henry laid Arthur back down in my arms and I struggled to sit up. Henry wrapped his arms around me and sat me up. I looked down at Arthur and smiled.
"What shall he be? A Duke or a Lord?" I asked as Henry sat on the bed with us. I looked over to Elizabeth who was smiling.
"Prince Arthur, the Duke of Cambridge," Henry said and I smiled as the door opened and Edward rushed in.
"A boy? Do I have another brother?" He asked as Elizabeth helped him onto the bed.
"You do. His name is Arthur." Henry said before Lola and Lady Byron walked in with Amelia and Christian. Henry went to grab both of them and Amelia leaned over to watch Arthur.
"This is your little brother Arthur," I said and she looked up at me in amazement. She leaned over and caressed Arthur face before kissing his cheek. When Elizabeth grabbed her Henry leaned Christian over.
"Do not worry my boy. We can never ignore you." He said as Christian let out a cry. I looked back down to Arthur before nodding at Greer.
"Tell Jason to do a twenty-one gun salute. Then have him spread the word of the presentation next week." I ordered and Greer smiled.
"Not even an hour after giving birth and you are already giving orders. Your will is my command." She said as she dipped her head and walked out of the room.
"We are not having another child for a year," I said to Henry who chuckled softly as Christian climbed and sat on his shoulder.
"If you say so. But you are usually the one who jumps on me." He said and both Edward and Elizabeth turned to us.
"What does jump on me, mean?" Edward asked and I flicked Henry on the forehead.
"Nice going."
