Queen Isabella

June 3rd, 1544

I gripped Lola's hand as the pain washed over me. I have been in labor for hours and still there showed no sign of the babies coming.

"Where is the physician?" Mary snapped as she dapped my head to try to remove the sweat.

"I am here now Your Majesty. Shall we check again if it is time?" He asked and I nodded as I groaned out in pain.

He lifted my skirts and I felt his fingers.

"Almost there, Your Grace, within the next hour or so? I shall be back." He said before bowing his head and leaving.

"Has anyone written to Henry?" I asked and Lola helped me sit up and I saw the look on Mary's face.

"What? What is it?" I asked.

"Father fell in Edwards room early this morning. He is resting now but they don't believe he shall last the week."

I stared at her before looking at Greer.

"Prepare the carriage."

"Bella?"

"If I have to command you I will. Prepare the carriages. We are going to Henry."

"You are about to give birth Bella." Greer said and I stared at her.

"If Henry is going to die he must have a chance to see the twins.  Prepare the carriages now." I said before another pain hit and I clutched my belly.

"Bella, Bella. We may not make it there before these two come out." Mary said as she reached towards me but I pulled my hand back from her.

"He is your father Mary, you should've stayed with him. not me." I said as the pain came again and Kenna quickly came and checked under my skirts.

"Head! I see a head! Push!" She cried out and I gasped as I pulled myself to my elbows and pushed. Greer rushed to the bowl of water while Mary grabbed her prayer beads.

"You had no right not to tell me right away about Henry." I hissed as I pushed again.

"You aren't married to him anymore Bella! Why do you care? After all he has put you through?" Greer snapped and I quickly turned to her.

"He was my first. I will always care for him Greer. Even if you don't agree with me." I groaned out as I pushed again.

"Another push!"

Mary helped me up as I held against her and pushed for all that I could. I heard a cry fill the air and I smiled before I felt pain again.

"What is it? Tell me." I demanded as Kenna handed the babe to Lola.

"It is a boy Your Majesty. He looks like Edward." She said and I felt my heart surge.

"Arthur looked like Edward as well."

I felt Mary rub my shoulder before the pain started and Kenna nodded.

"The other is ready. You must push now!" She commanded and I pushed but did not keep my eyes off of my son.

I felt the air slipping from me and I watched as a nursemaid threw herself towards the window and threw them open.

"Breathe Bella!"

I pushed again once I could breathe perfectly fine when another cry entered the room. I felt myself hugging my knees as Kenna held up my child.

"A girl, Bella. It's a girl. A Queen for Norway." She said and I laughed as I leaned against Mary. I love my boys but I would not change the rules for them to rule instead of a woman.

"Bring me both of them. Then prepare the carriages. We shall go to Henry. That is an order." I said as I stared at Greer who nodded before walking out the room. In my left arm I held my daughter and in my right my son.

I gasped at how much he looked like Arthur.

"You shall be named Arthur. Arthur James Tudor. Named after your late uncle and brother." I whispered as I kissed his forehead before turning to my daughter.

"You shall be named Catherine. Catherine Maria Tudor." I said and I heard Mary gasp as she covered her mouth.

"Two amazing Queens. She will have a lot to live up too." Kenna said with a smile as she wiped blood off of my legs.

"Take them. Help me dress." I said as she took the twins and Mary helped me stand. I took the warm wet towels from the maids and cleaned myself everywhere.

Lola and Aylee brought warm clothes that I probably should not be wearing but I did not want to risk dying. As I tied my cloak around me Kenna brought the twins back and they were snug in a single dress each and wrapped tightly in winter blankets.

"The carriage is ready." Mary said and I nodded as I looked down at the twins.

"Come. Let's go to your father."
