Chapter 84- 5,942 Miles Away

"Absence makes the heart grow fonder."

Cara's POV

Prague, Czech Republic

I just landed, not even outside the airport but I took out my phone and called her I arrived at 9AM, Prague time and it is most likely 12:00 AM in LA. Upon realizing the time difference, I hang up. She needs to sleep as well and I know how jetlagged she must be.

After wishing for her good day, I kept my phone and was ready to follow my bodyguards when I felt my phone vibrate inside my pocket.

Taking it out, I saw a very familiar photo of us kissing. I answered the phone right away and signalled my guards to take the VIP exit instead.

"Baby? You hang up?" I heard her angelic voice but the traces of tiredness didn't escape my hearing.

"You sound so tired, love. I am sorry for disturbing your sleep. I just arrived in Prague, safe and sound." I said.

"Ohh, that is so good baby. I was just unpacking when you called and as I glanced at the clock, I hurried and got my phone to call you right away. But upon checking it, I saw that I missed your call." She said like a kid explaining why she missed her breakfast. My girl is so cute.

"Love, you should be really sleeping, you took a long flight as well." I said as I took my phone and switch on the video, I wanna see her face.

"Hey, baby." She greated me lively.

"Hi Love, how's  everything, have settled in bed yet?"  I asked her.

"I am baby, btw, you'll be here in LA in December 2?" She asked me.

"Ohhh, right. I totally forgot about that Puma conference. Thank you for reminding me babe. But the things is, I won't even get to see you." I said  sadly as I know she will be in Mexico for her bestfriend's wedding.

"That is okay, baby. I'll facetime you everyday and every free time I get. I am not the one getting married so I won't be that busy. And besides, Izak, Slater and the rest of my friends will be there. It will be a delight if you can go with me but I understand that you are under contract and that you are the ambassador of the campaign for the youth. Don't take it to heart, baby. I understand everything." She said and I nearly cried. This is how understanding Ashley is, despite the cold and shy front that everybody sees, there is this gentle and understanding her who only shows her true self to the people she love.

"Aren't you going to sleep, baby?" I was out of my trance when I heard her asked.

"Only when you also get into bed while we facetime and sleep with me." I said and she hurriedly climbed on our bed, yes, ours, Since my house's renovation is not done yet,I am basically living with her.

We were listening to the music she was playing on the background and we felt asleep facetiming.

A couple of days later......

Ashley's POV

My routine has been checking the dogs, pilates, coffee run and Prive meetings in LA. I occassionally go out or I'll just be dragged by my friends to go out, I basicallyspend my time at home renovating our room to make it homey for both Cara and me. It was the day before Haley's wedding in Cancun and I was supposed to be in the plane with Izak right now but upon calling Alex and knowing that Cara is coming back from Prague today made me postpone my flight for a few hours so that I can somehow see her first before flying.

True to her words, Alex called me over the plane's wifi and told me they are flying private and since it is a VIP acxomodation, I stayed at the private suites first class airport accomodation till Cara arrive. It was half past 2 when she landed and when Alex told her that I was in the private lounge, she did not hesitate and walk off to my direction, leaving Alex to look after her things.

This is not the typical Cara, this is the version of her that she only shows me and nobody else.

I was in thw private lounge having my coffee when strong arms embraced me from behind. I don't need to turn around to see who it was, her warmth had already been memorized by my body and when she turned me to her and kissed me, I am in another dimention and the world ceased to exist.

"Well, Hello to you too, baby. Surprised???" I asked her as she kept on holding me close to her.

"That is an understatement. I was expecting to go to an empty home but you never fail to surprise me, love." she said kissing my cheek and ushered me to seat on her lap just embracing.

"Well, adding a few thousand bucks to be with my girl for a few hours with this reacrion is definitely worth it." I said smiling.

"Love, I have a better idea, why don't I join you for your trip in Cancun. I'll personally accompany you to the trip to Mexico and just board the plane back here in LA?" She asked and I looked at her as if she just threw in the most stupid question in the world.

" Baby, you do know that you will be having a conference tomorrow, right? And you are already exhausted from the long plane hours from Prague. So no, I won't allow you to do that." I said scolding her.

"But baby, I won't do anything, I'll just sleep on the plane and I can relax better if you are with me and after this, I won't be with you for a few weeks." She reasoned out.

I sigh in defeat. I know how hard it will be for the next couple of weeks with us being 5,942 miles apart.

I yielded and I called Izak to inform him that we will be riding private. And in the next few hours we were already on air with me and Cara couped up in the cabin bed just hugging, kissing and occassionally me biting her neck while the rest of our friends are outside doing their thing.

"What are you doing, love?" Cara asked me as she opened her eyes.

"Memorizing your face. I won't be seeing you for the next two weeks. How I want to be in Prague with you. But I have a photoshoot for the game Destiny. I will also have meetings for Prive. Please be here on my birthday?" I asked her with puppy dog eyes.

"Eventhough it may take that long, I will try to finish shooting earlier so that I can travel from Prague to LA. Anyway, I have set everything up for your birthday, it should be fun."  She said with that mischievious glance that I know so well.

"I hope you didn't invite strippers again. I will surely hate you no matter how much I love you." I said with a threat.

I mean, it is okay if she does that to her friends but to me? oh no can't do.

"Promise I won't. I am too possessive to let that happen to you. Nu-uh, no one can touch you except for me." She said before kissing me. We stayed that way until it was time for me to get off. We kissed and bid eaach other byebye. Promising to call or facetime everyday.

I really hate it, 5,942 miles away. It feels so far far away.
