Things were going back to normal for me. Miles stopped talking to me like normal, he stopped constantly checking on me, and stopped paying attention to me. Which was kind of expected. Miles always somehow found a way to stop caring.
I don't know how anyone can do that. How can someone just not care?
Anyways I had promised him that I wouldn't see Dylan again. It's honestly the hardest promise I've ever made. A huge part of me really wants to see Dylan and ask him questions and see if his story lines up with Miles. Because a apart of me doesn't know if I can believe Miles and everything he told me about Dylan. It's just a lot to take in.
And it sucks because I don't even know if what I had with Dylan is real. Miles did tell me that it was fake, but again, apart of me feels like I can't just believe him. Why would Miles even care about me being with Dylan. Yeah Miles did say he was trying but- there's no point in trying. I don't want anything to do with some one who had hurt me so much!
I've forgiven him too much to be honest. I just wish I can go back to my old crappy life. At least back than I knew that no one I loved hurt me...
Not that I love Miles of course, I just, he's my mate..
Although everything was going back to normal for me here, once again, Shane stood outside of my door making sure that I wouldn't get out. Once again a guard stood below my window, just watching and waiting for me to escape.
I guess this was Miles way to make sure I wasn't going to see Dylan again.
It hurts just thinking about it. I keep replaying all our memories together, wondering how something so real at the time, can be so fake now.
So I'm left to just believe Miles. Because there's no way in hell I'm getting out of here to see Dylan.
So today I was lucky enough to hear that Christian and Jenny were back in town, and wanted to hang.
With Miles permission of course, I'm going to see them, well not without Shane coming along to make sure I don't do anything too stupid, like sneak off to see Dylan instead of Christian and Jenny.
Christian and Jenny actually kind of live here in this town. Well mostly Jenny, Christian has his grim life to be about.
So I'm at least just a bit lucky to have them around whenever they are back in town.
Me and Shane arrived at the too familiar, ice cream shop Christian had told me to meet them at.
This was the ice cream shop I went to to meet Dylan tons of times.
It made me cringe just being in this place.
"Hey!" Jenny waved from her and Christians booth towards me and Shane who had just walked in.
I give her a smile and lead the way toward the booth.
I slip in across the booth, by the window.
"It's good to see you again Jane!" Christian says, smiling at me.
I grab my phone out typing in; "you too" and showing it to him.
I didn't really talk around anyone but Miles. I couldn't keep up with him if I had to be typing all the time.
And plus.. Well apart of me feels comfortable talking around Miles.
It's probably the mate bond that allows that to be.
"I'm gonna go order for us.." Shane mutters, obviously not that stoked to have to be dragged along here.
He got up and left leaving me with Christian and Jenny.
I was utterly surprised to see Christian and Jenny lean over the table and look straight at me.
"So we heard that Miles showed up at Dylan's house the other day." Jenny says.
I narrow my eyes confused. "What? We live in a small town and werewolf drama gets around." Christian shrugs.
"Are you and Dylan like together?" Jenny asks. I shake my head. We aren't together anymore..
"So why were you with Dylan? Don't you know that Miles and Dylan have a bad past?" Christian asks.
"Yeah.. What do you know about Miles and Dylan's past?" I ask in a whisper. "Did she just talk?" Jenny asks slowly.
"Yeah you just talked.." Christian points out.
"Can you just hurry and tell me before Shane gets back!" I hiss.
"Fine. Long story short, Miles killed Dylan's mate. Dylan hates him now." Christian shrugs.
So Miles wasn't lying.. That's a relief to know.
