[6] Unexpected Visit

Mia's P.O.V

Waking up in the morning was the worse. I was startled by my alarm clock, ringing at 7:30 am. I have work, and I completely forgot.

I flinch, feeling my head start pounding. 'Oh yeah...that's right.' The memories of the day before came flushing back to me. I still had a weary feeling in my chest, encountering the Kaiba brothers was so unexpected. The thought of the brunette's sapphire eyes staring into my smokey ones...

I shake my head, getting up to start my day. I slip off my pajama's to put on my working attire, consisting a light brown faded skirt with a matching colored hat, white t-shirt, and black flats. It wasn't too stylist for my liking, but it was still casual. After looking at myself for a few minutes in the mirror, I felt ready to leave.

I walk into the very aesthetic looking cafe. The bitter smell of coffee and sweetness of treats filled my nostrils, making me sigh in peace. Being a waitress wasn't hard of a job, I've been working here for about a whole year and it defiantly paid off. I surprising got large tips from customers, my positive and motivated attitude always kicked in when I came here. I guess customers liked it.

Today's shift was about 4 hours of constant work, of course, receiving a break in between. I hand a piece of paper to one of my co-workers, making them glare at me. I inwardly glare back, not wanting to cause any type of conflict.

"Excuse me, Miss?" I hear a male voice call it. My heart rapidly speeds up and my mouth gaps open a little. Slowly turning around, a man stands on the other side of the counter.

He chuckles, "Shouldn't you be happy to see me?"

I don't hesitate to run around the counter and into his strong embrace, "Dom! What are you doing here?!" I muffled into his shirt, shedding a few tears.

He smirks, "What's so wrong with visiting my one and only little sister?" I just shake my head in happiness, just ignoring him.

"So, how's life?" I awkwardly ask my brother. "Shouldn't I be asking you that?" Dom replies. I'm the one to chuckle this time, "It's okay, been kinda hectic for these last few days but that's life." I shrug my shoulders. He nods, his brown hair ruffling. "Whats been so 'hectic'? Or are you just being dramatic?" Dom's brow arches.

I puff my cheeks out, "What's that suppose to mean?! I'm not dramatic!" I state to him. I push his hands, which were now gesturing me to calm down, out of the way. My legs shift from under the table.

"Do you know the Kaiba Brothers...?"

Dom stares at me, the stare that's easily read as, 'Are you stupid?' . I sigh, "Well...I may or may not of gotten hit by a car, which is owned by Seto Kaiba."

His eyes widen, "What! Are you okay?" Dom shoots up from his chair, looking over my body to see a few cuts and bruises. I pull away from his hands.

"Dom I'm fine. I just got a concussion, but don't worry, I got prescribed some medication." I rub the back of my neck. "And I thought you grew out of your mishap state..." Dom mutters, sitting back down and burying his face in his palms.

"Dom, for real bro, I'm fine." I point my index fingers at myself. He shakes his head, "But worse could have happen Mia. He didn't say anything cruel or bitter to you, did he?" Dom looks up at me. A shiver went up my spine, he wasn't ever this serious and it was different.

I shake my head, "No, nothing that offended me that is. He just asked me a couple questions..." Guilt spreads throughout my body. Kaiba was defiantly cold to me in a way, but not in a way that hurt me. The least he did was help me out, that's good enough.

Dom exhaled, "Good. If he did, things would get personal. No one messes with my little sister, especially some rich, stuck-up, snob." I chew on inner bottom of my lip. "When did this happen?" He added.

"Uh...yesterday, when I got off the phone with you and was on my way home." I answer feeling anxious. His aura had defiantly changed when I brought the subject up.

Dom's eyes widen again a little, "Why didn't you call and inform me?" The stern in his voice was so unreal. I've never felt so nervous around him.

"I didn't want to worry or concern you into thinking I wasn't capable of being on my own." I inhale, "I apologize Dominic..."

He frowns, "It fine. Of course I'm always concern for you, it's because you're my little sister that's going against the world to live out her dream. I'd want nothing dangerous happening to you." Dom hesitates, "Just don't ever hold back on telling me these things." I nod, letting him know that I was listening.

We ended our 'hang out' by giving each other a hug. He pulls back from me, "I'm cooking dinner at your place tonight so we can catch up on each other's lives." I nod again, "Good deal."

With that said, Dom left.

Hey everyone! I'm finally back and got the courage to start writing again. I now get to happily announce, it's summer break and I will defiantly have more free time to get this book updated. Two months has gone by fast.

I know I promised two chapters when I got back but I'm still proof-reading the next chapter. I got too excited to publish this one. This is quite a short chapter but it's all I could come up with. I wanted to include a scene with Mia and her brother Dom, so I thought now would be the perfect time.

I apologize still for my long absence. I'm like a toddler right now, getting back on my two legs when I fell down from a sudden incident.
