Mia's P.O.V
The door opens, not revealing Mokuba but Seto. 'Holy hell! Act natural!'
I straighten myself from my comfortable slouching position while quickly crossing my legs to look like a 'proper lady'.
"Uh...Mr. Kaiba, what's brings you to visit me?" I urged. He still had a scowl on his face like their last encounter but this one seemed softened a bit.
"Well, seeming Mokuba has hired you so quickly, I questioned myself on why he did." He admitted. Seto walks over to my desk, his eyes gazing over my new belongings. "I see Mokuba has given you a treat. Tsk, how nice of him."
I stare at him, thinking about his words. "Yes, your brother has been treating me very kindly." I blurt out with a little bit of confidence. "He's an organized man like his brother such as you." I add.
Seto's eyes shoot back to me, narrowing them in the process, "Complementing me now? Listen," He interjects, "I won't be so nice to you like my brother. I'm expecting you to work your ass off to make me and my company look good."
My mouth gaps, arching my eyebrow, "Mr. Kaiba, I'll have you know that I will be doing my best. I've been going to school for two years now, making my way to be the best writing producer ever." I say.
Seto's face was a look of shock, "Is that suppose to be any meaning to me? I've been hassled to work my whole life, I guarantee that you're no match to a real professional."
I keep my eyes on the man before me, not wanting to back down. "Well, they're no match for someone like me Mr. Kaiba, I'll prove to you that I'm worthy." I convince, only resulting him to chuckle with a smirk.
"Hun, is that what you're really here for? To prove that you're worthy to me?"
I inwardly gasp when he calls me "Hun".
He continues, "I'm no god, but I am an intelligent, wealthy, chief executive officer...and one of the most famous. Don't waste your time trying to impress me."
Seto crosses his arms over his chest, waiting for me to respond.
"Mr. Kaiba, I respect everything you've done to get to the top." I calmly say. "And?" He questions.
I look away from the blue eyed man, gazing over my notes. "I am trying to impress you, I'll admit it. I've always seen you on television with all your successful products along with Kaiba Land. I saw that if someone as smart as you can accomplish those things, then someone like me can do it too. Therefore, in writing I mean." I admitted.
Silence fell upon us, I continued staring at my notepad, not wanting to look at Seto. I then hear a chair being dragged across the marble flooring. I glance over my shoulder to see Seto sitting in a chair, which I had no idea it was in the room.
"Miss Roger's...how can you look up to someone who strives to do differently than you." He asks. I blankly stare at him, processing what kind of answer he's looking for. "For example, I run a business that includes the making of duel disks and other items. You though, you strive to be a great publisher of some sort?"
'Well, this conversation has taken a weird turn...'
I gently bite my lip. "Well, you know...lots of people, young and old, look up to a successor like you. Even people get encouraged to go out into the world to create their own inventions. They might not be as good as you, but they still think about how you would do things." I stop my rambling, looking over his face for any type of emotion.
Seto shifts in his seat, leaning forward and resting his elbows on the arms of the chair. "Are you one of those people? Not to invent, but create. Perhaps a book of your own or establish an article for the newspaper?" It was like this man had figured me out already.
"Maybe." I mumble, "What's it to you, Mr. Kaiba?" I study his features, '
'Why are we discussing this?'
"Let's just say, I can pull a few strings and get you where you want to be in your career." He gives off a handsome smirk. My heart quickens and heat rises to my face. "But like you said, you have to prove that you're good enough to even advertise my company and Kaiba Land."
I was speechless.
Seto gets up from his seat, walking over to the door. "I'll stop by some other time this week. When you're finished, send the documents to my email." He finishes, walking out of my office.
"Ugh..." I run my hands over my face in exhaustion. "That was the most intense conversation ever." I look at my computer screen to see where I've left off. I began typing again, but still playing our conversation over and over."
'Maybe he can help me get to the top...I just need to push my way to perfect these tasks and show him that I'm all about hard work and I'm not some slacker in his eyes! In fact, I won't probably need him. I can do it all myself!'
