Mia's P.O.V

I've reached my apartment complex, going up the elevator, and unlocking my door. "What a day..." I say to myself, throwing my shoes off and hanging up my bag on a coat rack next to the door.

I walked into my room, it wasn't the best organized room ever but it was what I could afford. All four walls were a light purple. A twin size bed sat in a corner with black and white thick checkered blanket along with white sheets and multiple white pillows. A wooden desk sat in the opposite corner, next to a small closet.

I sat in a wooden chair with a soft cushion on top of it. I flipped open my old laptop. I've been working hard lately to save money so I could get updated software, but I just couldn't since I have to get other needs and supplies like food, water, and feminine products. I logged onto the app that revolved around me constantly.

My eye widen with joy and my heart started beating faster. I sat back, looking into space, "I can't believe this much people enjoy it. This much people read my stories. This much people actually noticed me!" I yelled proudly. "Let's keep up the good work Mia." I started typing out my next chapter in my book.

I'm very popular on this app called "Written-Selves", it's a pretty weird name if you ask me, but I guess the company didn't think creatively like they should have. I've reached over 100,000 followers in the past year and it really has let me use my imagination. Growing up, I was never experienced with romance and I wasn't great with writing action stories or any other genre.

I was always the observer, for example, I always observed my past friends with their boyfriends. I also did that with many other people, strangers perhaps. Watching couples interact with each other in super-markets, at the movies, in the park, etc.

I've never actually loved a man either, is that weird? Probably, but I was smart enough to not fall in love with a man who just wanted to use me. I will always put myself first before anyone, it's called self-love. Girls, including my friends, always feel like they need someone to love them to be happy, but I'm happy for my friends. They are also happy with their lovers and I hope it stays that way.

Well except for April. She didn't enjoy most presences' of most guys. It was probably because she was more of a tomboy than the rest of us, but that's fine. She is who she is, and I want her to show her true colors instead of being someone she's not.

My phone started vibrating, making me stop typing. I looked at the caller ID, speaking of April.

I cleared my throat and pressed the green button, "This is Mia." "Hey, why'd you run off so quickly?" She asked, I blushed thinking back at the incident. "I just felt embarrassed, that's all..." April chuckled, "Don't get so worked up over the little kid, or teenage boy I should say." I inwardly laughed, "Anyways, did you want to go somewhere with me?"

"Where to?" I asked. "Just to the mall, I happen to find two gift cards that we can use at Starbucks." She said with a little bit of happiness in her voice. She loved Starbucks and I just couldn't leave her hanging. "Sounds great to me. Did you just want to meet at the mall?"

I heard a but of shuffling in the background, "Yeah, meet me at the entrance of Macy's. Cya then!" We hanged up and I started to get ready. I changed out of my uniform into a nice creamy colored sweater, white jean's, and my black and white converse shoes. Making sure I had my wallet in my purse with my ID and money, I left to go meet up with April.

The walk there was pretty tiring but it the end, it was worth. Giving each other a friendly hug first, we started heading inside to explore various stores and get our choices of beverages at Starbucks.

We now arrived at the food court, but there was a small problem. "There's like, no where to sit!" April yelled frustrated since she complained early that her legs were starting to hurt. April was quite short, so that was probably why. "Maybe we can sit with someone...?" I say thinking.

April sweat-dropped, "Mia, I don't like sitting with strangers. Out of all people, you should know this." I shrugged, laughing nervously, "My bad."

I looked around the food court to see if I recognized anyone, but I didn't. I notice April walking over towards the wall and sitting on the ground, sipping her coffee. I sat next to her, giving her a sad smile.

"It can't get any worse." I say, fiddling with fingers. My anxiety was slowly kicking in, there was so much people here today and I was starting to get paranoid. "Are you getting anxiety again?" April ask, checking on me.

I moaned, "How'd you know?" She playfully rolled her eyes, "You always play with your hands and start looking at everyone that goes past us." I frowned, "That obvious, huh?" She just nodded.

A few minutes passed, as April and I were currently talking about dueling. The subject was suddenly brought up, but I didn't mind. I didn't like the game, I didn't hate the game. I just had no interest in it, it was boring and seemed like a waste of time.

April on the other hand liked it. She only talked about it when it was me and her. "So I was hoping one day I could maybe start a deck of my own." She says, watching everyone go walk by.

I sipped my coffee real quick and smiled, "I'm sure you'd be a good dueler person."

She laughed, "Duelist, not dueler person. I'm glad I can trust you when I say this stuff..." April held her fist out, looking forward for a fist pump.

"You can always trust me, for I trust you." I gave her a fist bump and we giggled like little girls.

"Excuse me. Did you girls want to sit with my friends and I?"

April and I looked up to see, what it looked like, a young adult. His tri-colored hair stood up very well and he looked very formal.

April gasped and a huge smile spread across her face, "Y-You're Yugi Muto!"

The guy chuckled, "That's me. I'm guessing you've seen me before?" He ask. April nodded and started rambling on how big of a fan she was.

'This guy looks familiar but I can't remember anything...'

"Mia," I look up to see April talking and I get up as well, "do you remember that day we watched that tournament on tv who was hosted by Seto Kaiba?" I took a few seconds thinking, "Oh...yeah I think. Wasn't that a few months ago?"

April grinned, "Yeah! This is Yugi Muto, he's the one that took part of it, and he's also the King of Games." I smile at her beaming and glance at Yugi. He seemed embarrassed in a way, a tint of pink, visible on his cheeks.

"So, did you girls want to sit with me and a few of my friends?" He asks. April and I nodded, feeling satisfied that someone can let us actually sit at a real table, instead of sitting and leaning against a brick wall.

Wet met Yugi's friends, they were an odd bunch but that's okay. Joey was more of a jokester and confident guy, seeming to be Yugi's 'side kick'.

The white haired man, Bakura, was okay. He didn't talk much but he still was a kind gentleman. Tristan was also kind, he actually was the one who would start the conversations. I nip at my straw, watching and listening to Yugi and April.

'They seem to be hitting it off well.' I say to myself.

She was rambling on about Duel Monsters and how hard she's been trying to build a deck to start dueling. Yugi listened, his smile still plastered on his face. I'll be honest, he wasn't that bad looking.

I guess in the end, today wasn't such a bad day.
