Everybody can write a poem,
but not everybody can be a poet. The truth is
poetry is not always written. It can still be seen, heard and felt
even without the use of ink.You can read it in the eyes of a child,
or in the way a girl smiles at the sight
of her man.You can feel it in the coldness of the night,
or in the presence and absence of anything,in birth or even in death.
You can listen to it through raindrops,
thunder or even through the rays of sunshine.Yes, darling.
Sunshine makes a sound as well.Perhaps,
you can hear it, too,but because you think a poem
is a magic that is createdthrough proper grammar
and deep words, you've become deaf. You've become too deaf.
I've written hundreds of poems,
but I may not be a poet, and probably, I will never consider
myself as one.Maybe it's because
I just write. I just always write.- Jan Di
