Dirty Lies// Cullen x reader

Part II

I turned around waving my hand quickly turning the snake back into jewelry as I said "Just leave me be Monsieur I wish to be alone." It was the man before tho Cullen I believe he was standing at the door looking at me and what I had done. "Sorry I never meant to intrude I just never got to talk earlier." I sighed before looking back over the balcony saying "Then how can I help you Cullen." He smiled and walked over next to me saying "That was a nice trick I never saw it before with any mage alble do that." I shrugged saying "I don't use magic often but when I do I don't share the fear other enchanters have."
"You do know that's not a good use of magic this is why it's often kept in a circle."
"Wow thanks but I know what you mean after all you are a Templar."
"How do you know? I never told you that."
"Haha well you just told me and lyrium has a special smell to it making it hard to miss."
"So you smelled me that isn't very formal miss (L/n)"
I grinned at him saying "you know what I meant Cullen I don't even need to." He laughed along with me at what he had said before getting interrupted by a voice saying "Leave her alone Ser." I turned around seeing my brother standing in the door way crossing his arms glaring at Cullen. "Come on sister leave this man alone and come back to the party I have someone that wants to meet you." Cullen looked at me before I walked over to my brother saying "I'll do what I wish your don't control me and I have no interest in meeting someone else who is just here to bother me!" My brother grabbed my arm and tried to pull me away before I waved my hand saying "culebra" as my necklace turned back into a snake that ran up his arm grabbing his neck and chocking him. "I said no." With that I reached out my arm taking the snake back around my neck as it hissed at him before he gasped a few times before standing up and going back inside. "Look Cullen I know your a Templar and you hate free magic but don't tell anyone about this please just head back inside." I then looked away back at the distant city waving my hand turning the snake back to jewelry. I herd Cullen walk over again saying "It was nice meeting you lady (L/n) and if you will, come have a dance with me later?" I shrugged again as I put my mask back on standing for a few more minutes before walking inside finding Cullen standing near the food table with a bunch of ladies around him. I actually felt a bit bad for him having to deal with that before walking over and saying "Sorry ladies but I'll take this dance." I grabbed Cullens sash on his shirt pulling him onto the floor saying quietly "Your welcome." He grabbed my waste and started dancing saying "thank you I don't know how long I would have lasted answering those questions." I smiled before continuing the dance with Cullen who wasn't half bad for being a solder and commander of troops. He spun me around the floor with the music getting jealous gasps from the crowd as we continued talking quietly among ourselves. The song ended and he bowed to me and offered me his arm walking off the dance floor. I smiled before saying "thanks for the dance Cullen it was actually not half bad but I'm guessing you have work to do here." He nodded before saying goodbye and walked away to find the rest of the people he was here with. I wondered what he was doing here anyways because it looked as if they were planning something not very good. I ignored the thought tho as I walked over to the drink table getting a different whisky and going to sit in a corner alone. Cullen walked over to Liliana Josephine and the inquisitor before getting asked by Josephine "I see you have been dancing with that lovely lady (L/n) which I must admit is surprising." Cullen nodded saying "yes sorry for that slight delay in our plans but I got information, we need to look in the library and I got the key from her." The Inquisitor clapper his hand saying "well done Cullen now let's hurry this up before something happens." They all agreed and split up going to different rooms in the place trying to stay out of sight. A few hours had passed by now and I was laying on a chair in the corner still drinking and watching the party until I saw the duchess who looked oddly suspicious. Right then the Inquisitor walked down the floor talking about all the evidence he had gotten around the palace before getting a knife thrown at him missing barely. The duchess took off running behind chased by the Inquisitor and the rest that didn't go running scared. I watched still sitting in the chair as the chaos went on around me before I herd Liliana yell "(Y/n)! Help us or get out of here!" I smiled yelling back "why it's so much more fun to watch you fail at protecting the empress!" I was about to get up and help before I got grabbed by my brother who rushed me outside thinking I would get killed or kidnaped. I wasn't going to tell him I could fight or use strong magic so I just went along with him into a carriage getting out of the palace. When arriving home I walked up to my room ignoring my brother who was trying to talk to me before I slammed the door on his face. Saying "Don't bother me until I come out!" I then locked the door and climbed down out the window disappearing into the darkness.
