Part XV

I walked around skyhold quickly looking for Cullen who I found looking at the reports on everything. I ran over to him and jumped into him giving him a hug saying "I cannot believe it's over Cullen I-I can finals be with you." He smiled before kissing my lips saying "I will always be here with you until the very end because I love you (Y/n)." It felt so good to be with Cullen after everything and for once I felt like it would stay that way. Time passed on as we traveled to the winter palace for the exalted council starting a different journey one I had no interest in taking part in. It had been a few days as me and Cullen spent together before I found him petting a dog trying to tell it to avoid a ball that was meant to be a fire ball. I laughed at him walking over "have you ever had a dog before?" He rubbed his neck nervously saying "Not uh really but I want to keep him." I nodded turning to leave before he grabbed my hand said "marry me?" I stood there a moment before saying "what?!" He looked away turning red "I mean uh will you marry me (Y/n)?" I put my hand over my mouth in shock before jumping up and dog saying "Yes Cullen I will!" Even the dog barked happily around me as Cullen placed a beautiful ruby ring on my finger saying "I am the luckiest man alive." I giggled as I stood looking at the ring before kissing Cullen softly saying "Do you know anyone who could make it official?" He grinned "I know a few people." I nodded as we walked hand and hand to lady Giselle and asked her to do it. She smiled warmly at us before leading us into the gardens under an arch saying "The maker gave us all a purpose and today he said that these two will love, Cullen Rutherford do you take Miss (Y/n) (L/n) to be your lawful wedded wife in sickness and health, life and or death?" Cullen smiled and said "I do forever." She then turned to me saying "(Y/n) (L/n) do you take Cullen to be your husband in sickness and in health, life and death?" I grinned saying "I do now and forever." She smiled at us saying "With the makers will and the power vested in me I now pronounce you husband and wife, you may kiss the bride." Cullen pulled me into a kiss dipping me down in his arms and bringing me back up pulling away. We thanked Lady Giselle and I took my leave for a little wile looking around at everything. It was just to perfect to be real I had the best life now with the man I loved what could go wrong. I was looking at the ring on my finger and thinking about Cullen as I kept walking around the shops and gardens. I returned to Cullen later that day holding a bag of dog treats and a small bag off cookies. The dog barked happily as I handed it the bag of treats that it instantly dug into making sure to get every last crumb. I walked over to Cullen and kissed the back of his neck saying "I got you something." He looked over at me as I sat down on the bench near him handing him the bag of cookies. He smiled at me "Thank you (Y/n) these look really good much better then the snails people have been trying to feed me." I laughed saying "Yeah I never really liked those but a bunch of the nobles do for whatever reason, says it make them look welter." We sat together eating the cookies until Cullen dog jump up onto the bench shoving us apart barking happily. I pet the dog and it moved over shoving Cullen off the bench fully laying down next to me seeing if I had more treats. "Looks like I am getting married to someone else." Cullen laughed slightly saying "looks like he likes you that Doesn't mean he can take me away from me beautiful wife." I blushed as the dog barked at Cullen until I tossed a bone into the bushes making the dog go after it. Cullen smiled and sat down again with me saying "If this is going to be our life I could get used to it it's nice to not always be working." I nodded leaning my head in Cullens shoulder saying "After everything I have gone through I'm glad your here with me." He nodded relaxing with me for the rest of the day. Time passed on as the council ended and the Inquisitor has fixed everything, no one knew where Solas had gone to and Liliana left only a note. Everyone split up going in different ways but I was able to stay with Cullen making a new life in a small village with the dog. After everything we had both gone through it was almost if he needed each other to keep us grounded. I would never forget the day Cullen first said I love you because If was the first time I ever fell for a lover boy such as him.
