Chapter 1
-Aichi's POV
The sun shone one morning, I opened my eyes to see my beautiful princess lying down beside me. The sunlight shone against her skin, as if she was an angel that fell from the Heavens.
I gave a small smile as I gave a light kiss on her forehead, in which she nudged at her sleep.
I heard the door knock from outside the room, I frowned slightly and sighed; I wanted to share this morning with only her.
As I stood up from the bed and stretched my arms, I opened the door only to see Princess Rekka who gave a usual condescending smirk. I gave a smile back, though awkwardly.
"Good morning, Princess Rekka!" I greeted.
"Good morning to you too, Prince." Rekka smiled at me. "Is our pretty Princess still asleep?"
"Ah, yes. I just woke up as well, I guess I have to wake her up too."
"Then do as you say, sire. It's breakfast time! Or you might want to give her a breakfast in bed?" She teased and I blushed as red as a tomato.
"I-I-" I stuttered at her words, how is she this bold?!
"I'm kidding, Aichi! We'll wait for you two to come and join us today, I'll see you two later!" Rekka stated and left.
I closed the door as I gave another sigh, I went to the bed and leaned to Kourin. She's still sleeping, like the beautiful princess she is.
I reached for her hand and kissed on the ring on her finger. I can still remember the day we got married, and I felt so happy that I couldn't contain it. I had to love her every single day, and I still do. It's been months after that.
Kourin's hand twitched against mine, I chuckled. I held her hand and caressed it.
Leaning closer, I spoke. "Wake up, Kourin."
She just moved and turned away from me.
I laughed silently, the princess is really beautiful, even when asleep.
I made my way to shrug her shoulder gently, and I noticed her eyes slowly opened. Success! I woke her up without making her mad for once!
Kourin yawned and glanced at me, I smiled. "Good morning, Aichi." She greeted.
"Good morning, Kourin. Breakfast is ready!" I greeted back with a wide smile.
She stood from the bed and I followed her. Right after that, we both went to have a breakfast with the king Takuto and Princesses Rekka and Suiko.
After the breakfast, I was walking alone by the hallways. There was no one there, and I could hear my own footsteps as I continue to walk. I glanced at the large windows, seeing the clear blue sky. I smiled and continued to walk around until I reach the door leading outside to the garden.
-
"Prince Aichi, a letter has been sent to you from the Dragon Empire." One of the guards said as he gave to me the mail.
The paper was dyed in dark red, I turned it around to see that it was from Kai. Just as I expected it.
I opened the mail and read the letter.
To Aichi, leader of the Royal Paladins and prince of United Sanctuary.
I am inviting you and your wife, the Princess, to a ceremony in which I am mostly involved with. I hope that you are not busy or in trouble by the day after tomorrow. I invited you and your wife since you are both my friends, I hope to see your faces.
I will let you know what ceremony it is when you arrive there.
From, Kai.
I smiled to myself, I am both excited and worried at Kai. What ceremony could it be and what is going to happen? I decided that I should go with Kourin, and I'm sure that she will come as well.
I looked at the flower field of the garden and sat at the ground. I picked some flowers and decided to make a flower crown, just like before.
I heard the sound of stepping by the grass, I let out a breath and glanced around. I saw the princess Kourin approaching me and smiling. I smiled back and watched as she sat beside me.
"Here, Princess." I said as I put the flower crown on top of her head. And she looked really beautiful.
"Thank you, Aichi." She replied. "I like this."
"I'm glad, you're even more beautiful." I say as I ran my fingers on her long blonde hair. I touched some strands of her hair and kissed on it.
I saw Kourin blushing and I couldn't help but to smile, she then caressed my face and leaned close to kiss on my nose.
"Aichi, you're being too romantic. What is going on with you?" She asked.
"There's nothing, really. I just couldn't help it, and I can't believe that I married someone like you. And I feel like the Heavens had blessed me."
"Yes, there's totally wrong with you right now." Kourin told me and we both shared a laugh.
"Oh! Kai gave me an invitation for us to come to the ceremony on his nation. Is it alright if we both attend the day after tomorrow?" I asked.
"Of course, if we are invited, it means that we are going to accept. It's a way of strengthening the relationship between two nations." Kourin explained to me and I nodded.
"Alright, it's settled!" I grinned, playing with the locks of her hair.
"Then, what kind of outfits do you prefer?"
"I guess I should wear my formal military outfit, it might be about it. But…"
"Just wear it if you're still unsure. It's formal anyways."
I gave a nod and looked at the sky, I sighed. "I hope that whatever it is, it's not a bad thing."
"I hope so, as well." Kourin leaned her head on my shoulder and hugged my arm.
I heard her let out a breath, I just chuckled. She might be thinking of something stressful right now, I guess I should help her take her stress out and get ready for later.
