A few weeks pass and football season is underway

A few weeks pass and football season is underway. I'm about to meet Billie at the stadium to watch the first game. I'm not a big sports person, but we promised Josie we would cheer her on. Luca also wanted me to come and support him.

We've been texting a lot and we even sit next to each other in class now. We haven't been on a date yet, mostly because of me, but we probably will this weekend.

It took a few days, but Billie went back to her normal self and I was so happy. I didn't like how weird it got between us especially since she is my only friend here besides Josie.

Josie is extremely supportive of me talking to Luca. She says he is one of the nicest football players and isn't the cheating type. I'm not really concerned about that though because we haven't even really hung out together. We're just taking things slow.

"Over here," I hear someone yell and I turn around and see Billie waving at me. I walk over to her and we hug briefly.

"I'm so glad we get in for free because I wouldn't want to pay for this," I say.

"Same. I don't even like this shit. I've gotten used to it though because Josie has always been a cheerleader and she always wants me at the first game."

"I'm glad we get to be here though. It's a big deal for her. This is college football. I mean, she could actually end up being a pro football cheerleader."

"If she has it her way she'll definitely be doing that," she laughs. "Let's go sit in the student section."

Billie grabs my hand and drags me through the crowd of people. For a second I actually think I like the way our hands fit together. It feels nice.

That's because you've never held hands before. Don't get crazy.

I tell myself to chill with the weird feelings. We make it to the student section and it's already packed. We sit next to some people that Billie knows and one girl is obviously really into her. We haven't even been here two minutes and she's giggling at everything Billie says. She's not that funny.

I roll my eyes and face forward focusing my attention on the field. I see Josie doing stretches with the other cheerleaders and she looks so excited. Billie stands up and screams out to her. "Hey baby," she yells from the stands.

I'm super embarrassed as people around us laugh, but somehow Josie spots her from this and her entire face lights up. The two of them wave at each other and Billie blows her a kiss before sitting back down. My second-hand embarrassment fades as I realize they are really good friends and have a cute relationship. It's obvious Billie would do anything for her and I start to wonder if she would ever feel that way about me.

"That was sweet of you," I say.

"Don't get mushy on me Montgomery. I'm always sweet."

I glare at her and she smirks before being distracted by the girl who thinks everything is so damn funny. I slightly feel jealous that she's taking Billie's attention, but I push the thought away.
