The rest of my weekend was uneventful. Billie tried to cheer me up but my mood was just too crappy. Josie apologized a million times because she felt partially responsible. She also let me know that she would be kicking him in the balls the next time she saw him.
Luca tried texting and calling me, but I ignored him. I just wanted the whole situation to go away.
My alarm goes off for the third time and I decide not to snooze it anymore. Dragging myself out of bed, I shower and get ready for class. A hoody seems appropriate for today since all I want to do is hide.
Gathering up my books and laptop, I head to class. I manage to make it through half of my classes before I run into Luca. He spots me before I can turn around and shouts my name.
"Alissa wait. Please let me explain," he pleads from behind me. I stop walking and turn to face him. He looks down at me with sad eyes.
"What do you have to explain?"
"I was wrong for how I acted at the party. I was drunk. I would never try to take advantage of you. I just got too carried away. Please forgive me."
"I don't know Luca. If I wouldn't have fought you off you could have raped me. Then what?"
"I know. God I feel like a jerk. I've never done anything like that. I just got so wrapped up in the moment," he sighs. "Look, if you give me another chance I promise I can make it up to you. I won't fuck up again."
He genuinely looks sincere. Up until that moment he was nothing but nice to me. Josie even swore he was a good guy. As much as I want to be mad at him, I can't. I really think it was a mistake.
"Fine, but we're back at square one. We have to move slow."
He smiles. "Whatever you want. We can go at your pace. Swear."
I smile too and after agreeing to text him he goes on his way. I continue to walk to the cafeteria when Billie approaches me looking like she's ready to kill.
"Did he just try to harass you?"
"No, he wanted to apologize."
"Apologize? You can't have a sincere enough apology for almost raping someone," she yells.
"Well he did and I believe him. We were both drunk Bil. I was into it at first like he said."
"Do you hear yourself? The guy could have hurt you and you're partially blaming yourself. He wasn't that drunk Alissa. You're a lightweight he's not. He knew what he was doing."
"Billie you weren't there. How can you even say that?"
"Because I know guys like him. Trying to act all nice and caring when they aren't."
I fold my arms across my chest. "Well it's my life so I get to decide who to let back into it."
