"That felt good!" Hayes said as we got in the car.
"Thanks for coming." I smiled. "Now, lets go get breakfast!" I giggled. He chuckled.
***Time Skip to family arriving***
Elizabeth and I finished preparations for tonight. We had made a picnic dinner and the Grier boys built a campfire. Nash, Taylor, Tez, Will and Jeanne even came!
Everyone was dressed nice. Hayes was in a dress shirt and so were all the boys. The girls were in casual dresses.
Hayes and the boys sat in the living room. I heard a car outside pull in the driveway and I ran outside as my family piled out. I immidentaly hugged my sister. My family had a group hug.
"Hi guys!" I smiled.
"Hello turd." My brother joked. I laughed and hugged him again.
"I missed you guys!" I smiled as we let go of eachother. "I'm so excited you're here. How long are you guys staying?"
"Three days." Evelyn said.
"Yes, I've got to take you guys to some many places." I said and turned around. Hayes was standing on the steps.
"Okay, so this is Hayes." I smiled and he walked over. He shook hands with my dad and hugged my mom.
"Lydia talked nonstop about you when she was visiting." Jenavi said.
I laughed and Hayes grinned at me.
"Well, come on in and meet everyone!" He smiled. I walked in holding hands with Hayes. Everyone introduced themselves and we went out to the outdoor table. I sat next to Hayes and Jenavi.
The food came out and we started eating. My mom and Elizabeth were talking about their childhoods and how they missed each other. Sky and Evelyn were chatting away. Jenavi, Taylor and Nash were talking about random stuff. Duke was talking to Will and Jeanne were talking about Football and my dad and Chad were talking about sports.
"I'm glad their all getting along." I said to Hayes. He smiled and nodded. "I'm glad they're here."
"Me too." He said.
****Time Skip****
We sat around the campfire. Hayes and I cuddled under a blanket and I laid my head on his chest and had my legs pulled up to me.
"Its getting late." I checked the time. It was 10.
"Its 10." He chuckled.
"This is the time when I get tired and come and sleep by you." I said. "I don't even use my bedroom barely." I giggled and moved my head upwards.
"Lets fix that." He said. Everyone fell silent.
"What?" I chuckled confused.
"Lets get our own bedroom." He said and moves the blanket. I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion.
He got down on one knee and pulled out a ring box and held it up. I raised my hands to my mouth as it fell open.
"Oh my gosh." I mumbled. This is what I've wanted since the day I saw him and now it was happening. I started to cry. I could spend the rest of my life with him. Start a family and go on so many adventures. Get our own house together!
"Lydia Ella Burton." He started. "From the day I met you, I knew you were the one I wanted to spend the rest of my life with you. You've changed me in so many ways. I love literally everything about you." He paused. "Will you, Lydia Ella Burton, make me the happiest man alive and marry me?"
I nodded. "Yeah. Yes." I whispered wiping away the tears. He slid the ring on my fingers and stood up. We hugged eachother and everyone cheered. Taylor and my mom were recording the proposal.
We stood there hugging while everyone cheered. I couldn't stop smiling and Hayes couldn't either.
"I told you one day I would do it." Hayes said.
"I know." I nodded and we sat back down and I laid on his lap.
"Now this can be forever." He said. I kept looking at the ring. It all felt untrue. But it was true.
"We get to have our own house." I smiled.
"Lets go House shopping tomorrow after work." He suggested.
"Yes!" I smiled.
"Meanwhile, you can stay in my room until we move out." He said. I smiled.
****Time Skip****
My family went back to their hotel and everyone else went to their hotel.
Sky came walking up to me and Hayes.
"You guys will stay in North Carolina right?" She quietly asked.
"Of course! And you can come over and have sleepovers on weekends." I said. She smiled.
"We won't move far. I saw a house just down the street for sell." Hayes said. "Its big too."
"Lets check it out tomorrow." I said. He nodded.
"Yeah, I'll still be your big brother." Hayes smiled.
"Come on kiddo!" Elizabeth yelled. "Its bed time!"
Sky nodded and ran off.
"I feel like this is all so fake." I said.
"Trust me its not." He said. I smiled and hugged him. "Lets go to bed."
We walked back into the house.
