Moving in with the Griers

Chapter 14

Hayes came walking into my bedroom after I'd changed into a swimsuit.

"Where you going?" He asked.

"Me, Emma, Riley and Lucas are tanning." I said.

"Oh that's right." He said. "Lucas is the gay one right?"

"Yeah." I nodded and put on my small backpack. "We're going tanning and swimming at Lucas house and then we're watching a movie."

"What time will you be back?" He asked as I started to braid my hair into dutch braids.

"Probably 3?" I said. "Why?"

"Just wondering. Tez, Jackson, Levi and I are going to play basketball for a while and maybe football." He said. "I'll be back at 2."

I nodded.

"Yo!!! Who's here!" I heard Tez yell as he walked in the house.

"We're in Lydias room!" Hayes leanes out the doorway to yell. Tez came running up and bro hugged Hayes.

I heard a car horn honk as I finished my braids.

I stood up from my bed and hugged Hayes.

"Okay, bye babe." I said.

"Bye baby girl." He said as I ran downstairs. I jumped into the passengers seat and Emma drove off.

"How are you?" She smiled. "I've missed you!"

"It hasn't been that long," I giggled.

"It feels like it though. Cheers boring now. Trevor wants me to quit so we can settle down together."

"That's what Hayes and I did and its nice." I nodded.

"I think I will." She said. "Is Hayes going to propose soon?"

"I think so." I said.

"I'm gonna be a bridesmaid right?" She squealed.

"Did you even have to ask that? Of course!" I said as we pulled in Rileys driveway and honked.

Riley ran out and got in back.

"Hey girlies!" She smiled. "I'm excited to tan!"

"Yes!" Emma pulled out and we drove to Lucass house blasting music.

When we got there, Lucas gave us hugs and then we started to tan.

****Time Skip****

It was 3:30 when Emma dropped me off. We sat in driveway talking for a bit.

"We need to hang out more. I'm not gonna see you as much because of cheer. Some other girls quit for their future and boyfriends. Kelly's holding tryouts in 2 months for the next team." Emma said.

"I think we're all around the age where we are settling down for a family or husband." I said.

"I agree." She said. "Anyways, lets plan another date sometime."

"Yes!" I said and opened the door.

"Bye cutie!" She yelled. I laughed and walked inside and turned towards her.

"Bye babe!" I joked. I saw her laugh from inside and drive away. I closed the door laughing. Hayes was sitting with Tez.

"Who was that?" He asked pausing the TV.

"Emma."

"Babe?" He asked.

"Yeah, its a thing girls say to eachother." Tez said.

"See?" I took a drink off water. "Tez gets it. Anyways, how was basketball?" I asked and moved my wet hair to the side.

"Ugh. Jackson can't play well." Tez said.

"Yeah." Hayes agreed.

"Where you at least nice to him?" I asked and set down my bag by the couch.

"I tried to but he couldn't shoot!" Hayes said.

"But you didn't say anything mean?"

"I don't think so. Tez?" Hayes asked.

"Nah. He was good." Tez said.

Sky came running down the stairs and jumped onto me.

"We, you're wet!" She squealed and giggled. I laughed and set her down.

"Yes I am." I said. "Do I look tanner?"

"Yeah," She said. "But go take a shower! You're wet! And then when your done lets go get dinner since mom and dad are on a date."

"Okay Mrs. sassy." I smiled playfully. She giggled and then sat between Hayes and Tez.

Once I finished showering, I changed into shorts and a tank top. I blow dried my hair and then let it fall on my shoulders. I walked downstairs and saw Sky sitting on the couch alone.

"Where'd Hayes and Tez go?" I asked as she pulled her eyes away from the TV.

"Hayes went to get you dinner." She said. "And I think Tez went home."

I sat down next to her.

"So, tomorrow is your last day of summer." I said. "What do you want to do?"

"Well, I want to sleep in and then can we go get a pedicure and manicure?" She asked. "And then lunch? And then I want to watch a movie with Hayes and you. Then go to bed!" She said. "Can you drive me to school tomorrow?" She asked.

"Yes to all of those!" I said. "Let me call the nail place really quick."

I scheduled an appointment at 11.

Hayes came walking in to the house when I hung up the phone. He was holding Chinese take out bags.

"Thanks for getting dinner." I smiled and gave him a hug after he set down the food.

"Of course." He smiled. "Sky, its your last day of summer tomorrow. What you gonna do?"

"Lydia and I are getting pedicures and then manicures and then going out for lunch and then you're going to watch a movie with us." She said.

"Oh really?" He raised his eye brows. "I don't get to say anything about my schedule?"

"No." Sky said. I smiled and got out plates. "Plus. Mom and dad are leaving on the second day of school for a week and a half."

"I thought it was only a week." I said.

"The business changed it." Hayes said. "So you and I got a whole week to fill up until Monday." Hayes said.

"Awesome." I smiled.

"You guys have to pick me up." Sky said.

"You're taking the bus, remember?" Hayes said and gave himself food. I got some too and so did Sky. We started eating while talking about plans for the week.

"Oh yeah." Sky frowned.

"Anyways Sky, I won't be here after school everyday. Lydia will." Hayes said.

"Why?" She said.

"We got jobs." I smiled.

"You guys are really committed to eachother. I'm gonna have to move into your house when you guys get married." She said. I chuckled and so did Hayes.
