Horseback riding was tiring and Sky fell asleep in the car.

"Hungry?" Hayes asked.

"A little." I shrugged.

"Lets go get smoothies." Hayes took a left turn.

"Whens your next football game babe?" I asked.

"Next week. Why?" He asked.

"Sky and I will be there." I said.

"Sky's always the third wheel and I love it." Hayes chuckled. "You're cheer coach asked if she was our kid."

"Kelly did?"

"I don't know. The blonde one."

"Yeah that's Kelly." I said. "That's weird."

"But baby. You can't wear something like that. The boys would be all over you and I can't have that. You're mine." Hayes raised his eyebrows shaking his head looking me up and down. I giggled.

"Fine." I said.

"I'm gonna have to keep my eyes on you." He smirked.

"Same with you." I said.

"Me?" Hayes said.

"Yes you. Who else am I dating?" I laughed.

"Why me?" He said.

"Well- i-y-" I was stumbling on my words dumbfounded. "Look at you.
You're hot, that's why."

"And so are you." He said. We laughed. He went into the drive through and order.

"Skylynn." Hayes shook her little leg gently.

"What?" She snapped.

"Sky, we got you food." I said. Hayes handed her the smoothie as we slowly pulled out of the drive through.

I looked out the window gently sipping on my raspberry smoothie.

"Lydia?" Sky asked.

"Yeah?" I asked.

"Do you thi-" She paused. "What would you have done if you never met Hayes?"

"Ask me that when Hayes isn't around and I'll gladly tell you." I smiled.

"What? I wanna hear." Hayes complained. I smiled at him as we pulled in the driveway and sky pulled me into my bedroom.

"What would have happened?" She asked.

"I think that if its meant to be it'll happen. But if I never met Hayes, I think my life would be a lot more boring and I'd be sad." I said. "Why do you ask?"

"I'm in love with this guy. How do I know he's the one."

I smiled at the thought of young love. "You just know." I said. "You know that you want to be with him forever. You won't have to change yourself and you can relax around him."

"But he likes another girl." Sky sat on my bed next to me.

"Well, just tell him. He either likes you or he doesn't. You shouldn't have to fight for the one Skylynn."

A moment of silence fell upon us as we just sat.

"Is Hayes the one?" She whispered.

"I hope so." I nodded. "I think he is."

"I know that you'll stay in our family forever. I know it." She said.

She slid off my bed. I stood next to her. I crouched down and we hugged eachother.
