Chapter FOUR "WELCOME TO THE LABYRINTH"

Athena looked around before glancing at her access bracelet. It shows the time. She stomped her feet impatiently.

It’s already 3 minutes before sunrise and Mart is still nowhere to be seen.

All conquerors should be transported in front of the Labyrinth’s entrance before sunrise. The labyrinth has 24 entrances; one for each station. Each conqueror is accompanied by two peace officers.

The entrance of the labyrinth looks nothing more except a metal wall about 60 feet. It is said that it will only open once the light of the sun shines upon it.

Athena has already been transported 5 minutes ago. She is now waiting for Mart who told her to go first since she was already done changing before he does.

It was supposed to be a cold morning but with Athena’s full-body armor, it felt as hot as a sun.

A minute later, Athena finally saw a figure moving towards their direction. It was probably Mart since the other conqueror’s entrances are far from theirs. But the thing that made Athena narrowed her eyes is the fact that the figure is alone. There were no peace officers guiding the figure.

"What took you so long?" Athena asked as Mart reached their spot. He just shrugged but didn’t utter a word.

Athena studied Mart. She looked suspiciously at his all-covered face (they all have full-cover helmets), trying to decode the reason of his behavior.

She was distracted when Mart suddenly reached for her hand to hold it. She didn’t expect it but her heart skipped a beat. And she knew exactly the reason why. Only one person has that effect on her.

Unfortunately, she didn’t have the time to ask questions since everything around them started to glow. It’s as if the light has swallowed them all.

Later on, Athena can’t take it anymore. She shut her eyes close. But when she opened it again, she realized that they are in a different environment. She looked form side to side and all she can see are high metallic broad hallways. It was a crossroad.

"Welcome to the labyrinth," said a very familiar voice beside her.

That’s when she remembered her previous dilemma.

"Urikynn what are you doing here?! It’s dangerous! Where’s Mart?!" she asked him furiously.

"Athena there’s something I want to tell you. But first, let’s go this way," he said before taking her hand again and dragging her to the left way.

"What is this thing that you want to tell me? And do you know where you’re going?" she asked as she let him lead the way. In all honesty, she was mad to know that Urikynn followed her in the labyrinth. But there’s also a part of her that is happy to know that he’s with her.
