Two very pissed off boys, one living room, and one me.
That is the setting of the scene in front of me.
One of those boys is sleepy, grumpy, has a groggy voice from sleeping, and has years of violence worn on his face. He is sitting up next to me on the couch.
The other is wide awake, grumpy also, his voice is well... his voice, and has years worth of perfect hygiene on his face. He is face to face with me, with a look that I couldn't quite make out.
Guess which one is yelling at me? Take your best guess!
Trick question! They're both yelling at me.
"Who is on your couch?" Chris says to me first.
"A fri... well, his name is Xander," I inform him.
"Well who is Xander to you?" he asked in a protective tone while eyeing Xander.
"We're just friends, don't worry lover boy," Xander said. "I'm not quite sure why you're here though."
He was making eye contact with Chris while he shouted it, but I know that he was directing his question to me.
"Don't worry, it's not what you think," I say, not really sure which boy I was talking to.
"Why was he asleep on your couch?" Chris interrogated me.
"Because I was tired, smart one," Xander said to him.
"Okay, why her couch? What's wrong with yours? Your bed? Why are you here and not at home?" Chris asked.
Before Xander could growl an answer to him I cut in. "Calm down Chris, I said it's not what it looks like. He's a friend and we went to the mall earlier, then we headed here to rest."
"So you went on a date at the mall? How romantic," Chris spat.
"Oh it was so romantic. We walked around holding hands, she got me some cologne, I got her some new stuff form Victoria's Secret, and we shared a Blackberry smoothie," Xander taunted him. I stood there with my mouth open, while Chris looked like he was about to punch Xander in the face. Man, he is so protective.
"Would all of you shut up?" Eden shouts, rubbing her eyes as she walked out from the hall. Her hair was really messy around her face. I might have laughed or teased her if not for the situation.
Chris was shocked by the additional guest, I was still recovering from what Xander had said, but he just stood there smirking.
"Sorry Eden, just having a little argument," Xander assures her.
After taking a look around the room, Eden asked, "Oh, is this her real boyfriend or something? The one that you said watched her like a hawk?"
"No," Chris and I said in unison, while Xander said "Yes."
"He's not my boyfriend."
"He's not your boyfriend, Alec's not your boyfriend, who's your boyfriend then?" She asked.
"No one," I tell her.
"No one," I repeat, looking between both boys this time.
"So calm yourself, Chris, I'm not going after her. We're just friends," Xander says.
"Yeah, friends," I say quietly.
Chris looks defeated. A little relieved, but defeated. I'm not sure why he's pissed anyways. If Xander and I were dating, which we aren't, then he shouldn't have acted like that. Who I date is my choice, and he doesn't have to pass some stupid best friend test. Who is he to get mad?
