The stay at Marisa's apartment got boring fast.
There wasn't much to do, at least for me since I was under strict orders not to get up unless I had to go to the bathroom. My legs fell asleep countless times and so did my butt. My back and neck hurt from stiffness since the couch wasn't all that comfortable.
Marisa was kind enough to bring me her iPod to listen to music. She had some music that I liked, some music that I didn't, and some music I hadn't heard of. The ones I hadn't heard were mainly things like Korean pop music. It wasn't that bad, to be honest. A lot of it was catchy.
Marisa and Eden took turns sitting with me for the first twenty-four hours. But I slept a lot of those, and I was listening to a lot of music, so the excess hours were kept to a minimum.
The second day though, I didn't want to stay sitting though.
"Marisa, come here," I ordered in the morning.
"Good morning to you too," she grumbled.
I grabbed her arm and before she knew what I was doing, I was standing up. I took a step, but she stopped me easily.
"You need to rest," she said.
"Bull," I said.
"Not bull," she countered. "You could split your side, making all the healing you've been doing a complete waste of time."
"Too bad," I said. I moved her out of the way and went into the kitchen.
"Whatever, just don't eat all of the food," she said from the living room. I gave a quiet 'sure' and searched the pantry for food. My eyes landed on fruit loops, so I grabbed a bowl of that and got out the milk.
I leaned against the counter, my legs crossed while I spooned cereal into my mouth.
Aj was the first person to come into the kitchen. He was wearing black skinny jeans, white tank top, and a leather jacket. His eyes were covered by sunglasses.
"Wow, are you one of those jerks who wears their sunglasses inside?" I asked. He shook his head.
It took me a second to realize that I am speaking to a drug dealer. He was probably trying to hide the redness of his eyes.
"I need to run out to get some stuff, want to come?" he asked.
"You mean I don't have to rest?" I asked. He shrugged.
"You're the one who needs to heal, not me. It's your decision. If you're up, you might as well get out of the house," he said.
I set my empty bowl in the sink. "Sure, I'll go. I need my shoes."
He nodded, pulling them out of the closet and handing them to me. After I placed them on my feet, we walked out of the apartment.
We were on the road in less than five minutes, speeding at 90 miles per hour on the highway. The windows were cracked, making my hair go crazy from the wind.
Once we arrived to our destination, Aj was out of the car in a heartbeat. I had to speed up a little bit to catch up, but be careful with my tender side. We were walking inside a tattoo shop.
No one else was in the lobby since it was around nine in the morning. Aj walked through one of the doors that read in big bold letters 'OFFICE'.
"Aj, can you do me a favor and shut the door while we talk?" I heard a woman's voice say. She didn't sound very friendly.
Aj motioned me inside. I shut the door behind me when I came in. The girl with lilac hair in front of me gave me a dirty look.
"I thought you and I agreed that you only brought your girlfriend to these meetings. That was a miracle itself," she said coldly.
