Chapter 13

Finn

I’m standing out the front of Rachel's front door and I’ve gotta tell you that I’m as nervous as hell right now. I know this isn’t really much for a first date and I plan on making that up to her as soon as we both get the chance. 

I ring the doorbell and I only have to wait a couple of minutes before Santana opens it and gives me a huge grin. She looks me up and down before giving me her approval, something about me being too hot to handle tonight. I can’t help but think that if Santana weren’t happily dating my best friend I’d have to be a little worried about her. 

‘Thanks’ I say. 

‘Rachel will be down in a minute and believe me girlfriend she looks like a million dollars.’ she tells me ‘So I’m just going to head over to the party ok’ 

‘Sure’ but I don’t respond any further because I cant move my eyes away from the goddess walking down the stairs. 

Her hair is piled on top of her head, and she has on a tight black dress that stops mid thigh and is held up by spaghetti straps. 

‘Wow’ I finally get out once she’s reached me ‘you look stunning’ I tell her. Stunning doesn’t seem like the right word but to tell you the truth I don’t think there would be words right now that would adequately cover how amazing she looks. 

She smiles that smile at me then, you know the one that makes your knees go weak. 

‘You look very nice too’ she replies. I look down at my black dress pants which I am wearing with a black button up shirt, I think it’s a little to tight but Kurt assures me I look hot in it and that Rachel will think so too. I’m happy that she likes it. 

‘Do you think it would inappropriate to get the goodnight kiss out of the way at the beginning of the night?’ I ask her as she takes another step towards me. I don’t know where all this confidence has come from. It must have something to do with the kiss we shared yesterday, I would never dream about saying something like that normally. 

‘No not at all. In fact you should feel free to go right ahead with that’ she tells me. 

I move forward and gently caress her lips with my own, I know that I should pull back but her eager response forces me to reach out and pull her to me. 

Rachel

I swear every time he kisses me it gets better and better. I feel his teeth tug gently on my bottom lip before he pulls it into his mouth. I take the opportunity to open my mouth and sweep my tongue across his bottom lip; I want entrance into his mouth. I want to discover every crevice and every taste. I can’t help but moan when his tongue darts out to meet mine, apparently just as eager to join the exploration. 

When we finally pull apart I can’t help but moan when I take in his ravaged appearance. His hair has that messed up look now from where my hands ran through it and he is looking thoroughly kissed which is a look I’m looking forward to seeing on him a lot more. 

‘God’ he groans. ‘You gotta stop looking at me that way, and stop looking that way’ he tells me, I laugh at the comment. I know that my eyes are devouring him, I feel like a starving woman at the moment and the only thing that will feed that hunger is the Adonis standing in front of me. 

‘What am I looking like?’ I ask him. 

‘Apart from sexy as hell you look ravaged’ he smirks in response. 

‘Well we don’t want either of our parents seeing me look that way do we?’ 

‘No so we’ll just walk slowly’ he says before offering his hand. I happily take it and I cant help but stare dopily at out joined hands. Being with Finn has been a dream of mine for some time. I still don’t know if either of us is completely ready for the reality but I cant wait to find out. 

Finn

The party has been in full swing for a few hours now and I have to admit I am having a good time. There are not too many people here thankfully and most of them are dancing to Flammable at the moment. I am standing at the back of the room watching and listening in awe. I cant deny that Rachel is meant for the spotlight, she comes alive on stage when she is singing and I love that fact that she is so happy. 

‘Hi everyone’ she says when they finish the song ‘the next song is a new one that I have written. Some of you may remember the beautiful song that was written for me that I performed a few weeks ago; well this is a song that I have written to the author of that song. They know who they are and now this is for you.’ She tells them before a beautiful melody starts and Rachel's voice follows.

I lock eyes with Finn who is standing at the back of the room with a huge grin on his face. He knows that I figured out that it was him that wrote the song for me, and this is my way of telling him that I know and that even though I haven’t told him, I love him.

When the song finished I gesture to the rest of the band that that’s it. I want to spend time with my date. It is his birthday after all and I have something very important to tell him. I’m just about to jump off the stage when Mrs Hudson approaches and tells us that the cake is coming out and asks if we’ll sing happy birthday. I turn to Blaine with a grin knowing that this is the perfect opportunity for him to show Kurt he’s interested. 

He must be thinking the same thing I am because I don’t need to explain to him what I have in mind. 

‘You in?’ I ask him. 

‘You bet’ he replies. 

Someone turns the lights out and we see the candles so we start our song. We approach Finn and Kurt who are standing the middle of the room as we sing. 

‘Happy birthday to you’ I sing in my best Marilyn Munroe voice. 

‘Happy birthday to you’ Blaine joins in. 

‘Happy birthday dear Finn’ I continued at is run a finger up his chest ‘And Kurt’ Blaine adds blowing a kiss right into his face’ 

‘Happy birthday to you’ we finish together.
