Hajime had wanted to talk to Nagito, but wasn't able to think up a way to do so. Nagito was acting strange. He was far less talkative than the previous day and had some off green color to his usual pale skin. Hajime clearly wanted to ask Nagito about this, but couldn't imagine much of how to do so, considering that a topic such as this might offend the latter more than show concern from Hajime to Nagito.
"Hey...Hinata-kun..I know this is a selfish request from me, but..could I maybe..ah..nevermind. It was stupid." Hajime turned to Nagito, seeing that he really had something important to say. "What were you gonna say? It's not stupid if you wanted to ask. Please ask." Nagito turned back to Hajime, scratching his head.
"Is it alright if I live here? I really have nowhere else to go and it's been awhile since I've slept in a real bed." The sincere look on Nagito's face made Hajime smile. "Of course you can stay! I was gonna offer anyway. Isn't it horrible to live on the streets for so long? And having to do it alone too!" Hajime handed a plate of bagels to Nagito, followed by a glass of orange juice.
"R-really? T-thank you Hinata-kun! I'm so happy!" Nagito smiled and hummed, twidling his fingers. He still wore the t-shirt from last night, his pale legs crossed. Hajime was in his casual clothes, dark jeans, a white button up, and a green tie. He planned to meet with Makoto about Nagito's death files. If Nagito was the one who had read that message, then he would know exactly what Hajime was leaving to do.
"Ah, Komaeda? I'll be leaving at 12 today, so you can just relax here. I'll probably stop and get you some clothes as well." Nagito nodded, stepping off the couch and walking to the kitchen to put his glass away.
"Then what may I do in the meantime?" Nagito asked. Hajime thought about it. Nagito was one for peace and quiet, more than most, which made it hard to decide something. "Ah, I have a pool in the back? My backyard transformed into a garden after....Koizumi-san...ah..Nevermind..It's just a nice place to relax until I get back. I'll get some stuff for your room too."
Nagito nodded, taking notice of the mood change when Hajime had mentioned the red haired photographer. Hajime left the house with his wallet, giving Nagito a list of things he may want to know. What should I do today? Nagito got up and changed into a black pair of jeans from Hajime's closet. He switched out his long white shirt for a light blue one also in Hajime's closet. I guess I'll relax outside. Hinata-kun really knows that I like relaxing..
Nagito stepped outside, taking a deep breath as he smelled the outside air. Hinata-kun was right.... Hajime's backyard looked like a real garden. There were flowers everywhere and large trees near the back. A pool was to the left of the backyard while a large picnic table was on the right.
This place is amazing.. Nagito walked to what he recognized as a hammock and climbed in. It was under the shade of a beautiful apple tree, one that had bright red apples growing from it. Hajime has a really nice house..
While Nagito laid, he closed his eyes and thought about his mother. She had been the only person who had really cared for him, even if she wasn't around long enough to watch him grow up. While Nagito thought, he heard a familiar voice from Hajime's next door neighbors.
"That's really great Tanaka-san! We should definitely invite the others! I'm sure they would enjoy it!" It was Sonia's voice, a voice that was so light and whimsical, it was easy to recognize from anywhere. Tanaka-san? Sonia-san? Do they live next door or just Tanaka? It would make sense since Tanaka's clothes are here..
Nagito had wanted to peek over and say hi, but he just wasn't ready, so he peeped through a small hole. Sure enough, Gundham and Sonia were talking in their backyard, Gundham's hamsters on his shoulders.
How odd...Hajime lived this close to our friends..I wonder if he ever dated Tanaka...I mean, Tanaka's clothes are here afterall.. Nagito laid back down in his hammock, staring up at the apple tree. His eyes closed softly as he thought about his mom.
He could still feel her warm hands running through his hair as she sang her lullaby.
"I love you Nagito"
