"it's settled"

It's been a few weeks since River first walked me home. He's done it everyday since then. I've gotten closer with everyone in the group. Kerri is also officially in the group now. I still have the feeling that Martha just doesn't really want me around, but it's whatever. At lunch on Friday, the two Corey's offered that we should all get together and hang out somewhere out of school. We all happily agreed. Wil said that we could all just go to his house, since his parents are both away on a business trip. We all decided that we should do it Saturday night, so if anyone wants to sleep over they can and won't be late for school or anything. I asked everyone in the group if the were, so i decided that i would too.

River and i have grown really close over the past few weeks and i couldn't be happier. Even though nothing romantic is going on, i still enjoyed his company and loved being in his presence. As me and him walked home Friday after school, we talked about the group hanging out the next night.

"So, Riv, are you excited about tomorrow night?" I say with loads of enthusiasm, because i, for one, couldn't wait.

"Yeah, i think it's going to be great, let's just hope the two Corey's can behave well enough. i don't feel like being a chaperone." he says with a cute chuckle at the end.

"Oh, come on have a little faith in them. Besides they'll probably bring beer with them and pass out from drinking it all."

"I can really see that happening." he says laughing even harder than the first time.

We talked more about random stuff until we eventually made it to our stop. I've always hated this part of our walks home.

"Are you sleeping over tomorrow?" River asked me as he kicked the rocks on the ground around him.

"Yeah, i think everyone is, are you?"

"Yeah, i am, are you going to need a ride there?" he asked me finally looking up.

"Yeah, but i was just planning on walking."

"You can't do that. Do you know how far away Wil's house is?" he stared at me like i was literally insane.

"I just thought it would be good exercise. Besides, it would be a good opportunity to take in this new town."

"Well, you're not anymore, you are getting a ride with Kerri, Keanu, and I. It's settled."

"Well, i guess i have no choice now, right?"

"Yes, you would be right." he said nodding his head over exaggeratedly.

"Okay, whatever you say. See you tomorrow night, Riv."

"See ya, Oaky!" he said before turning on his heals and running towards his house.

I smiled at the nickname he had given me weeks prior. I loved how only him could come up with something so original. It was magical.

As i walked into my house, i see my dad sitting at the kitchen table reading the paper. I asked him about the get together, and he said it was okay. I told him that is was going to be all girls except for River and Keanu. I told my dad this because i knew he wouldn't let me go knowing that a majority of the group is boys.

I ran up to my room and started doing homework. I showered, ate dinner, and eventually passed out watching MTV in my room. That was until i heard something hit my window.
