i wake up to the sound of something hitting against my window. I look at my clock and see it's already 11 in the morning. I didn't think i was asleep for that long. I look out to see what it is and to my surprise i see River standing, looking out of his window as well. I open the window with a huge grin on my face.

"Hey sleepy head! Have a nice sleep?" River says in an overly awake and happy tone for a Saturday morning.

"Obviously not as good as yours." I say with a sheepish grin and a groggy voice, earning a chuckle from him.

"Yeah... Um, my family was wondering if you wanted to c-come over for b-breakfast or something. T-they know you're new in t-town and that we've b-been walking home t-together-" I noticed he was rambling, so i quickly cut him off.

"Riv, i'd love to. When?"

"Um... now." He said making my eyes open as big as they could.

"River, i'm not even dressed yet." I say hoping he would say that we could do it another time.

"Well, get dressed then."

"Okay, see ya when i'm ready i guess."

"Okay and hurry, it's almost finished. You can also bring your parents if you want." He said just before he closed the window and probably ran down stairs to tell his parents the news.

I quickly got dressed into the most sophisticated outfit i could find. But it couldn't be to sophisticated. I didn't want his family to think i was a square, right? 'Ugh, this is going to take forever' i thought to myself. After about ten minutes of looking, i finally found an outfit that i thought fit the occasion well. I quickly hurried downstairs. My dad had to work early in the morning so he couldn't go with me. I'm sure they won't mind if i just tell them why. I ran out the door and hurried up my driveway and down River's to finally find myself standing outside his door. I knock and am instantly greeted by a younger girl. She had this long, curly brown hair.

"Hi, you must be Willow! Rio can't stop talking about you." She said with a satisfied grin.

"Shut it Rain." Before i knew River was there standing right next to her, motioning for her to move out of the way.

"Hey." He said staring at me with a sheepish grin.

"Hi."

"You can come in." He said moving out of the way so i could get through.

As i stepped through the front door, i took in how free and calm the house looked. The air had this earthy scent to it. You could really tell that the house had this lovey environment too. There were plants, all real and not plastic, scattered all over the place. it was a really beautiful sight to be seen.

"Your parents couldn't make it?" River asked breaking me away from my thoughts. There was a hint of concern in his voice.

"Yeah, my dad works really early in the morning, and my mom, well, she's just never around." I had made the choice not to tell River about my mother. I just felt that it was a personal thing and i didn't really know him that well yet. I mean, this was my first time ever at his house and the first i had ever actually seen his family.

"Oh, well, that's fine. Here, i'll show you to the dining room and then after breakfast, i can show you around."

"That sounds great, i'm starving."

As we walked over to the dining room table, i really got a good view of all the Phoenix siblings. River's only brother, Joaquin, who goes by Leaf, was arguing with what looked to be his youngest sister. She was really pretty and blonde hair like River. I believe her name is summer.

"Okay, settle down, we have company." Arlyn, River's mother, said causing everyone in the Phoenix household to look up at me.

River motioned me to sit down next to him. I happily complied. We all started eating the vegan omelet that Arlyn had made for everyone. It was absolutely delicious.

"So, Willow, how has the town been treating you so far?" John, River's father, asked me.

"I've had a really great time and met some really good people so far. I couldn't be happier with this new town." I said while i kept scarfing down my food.

"Riv's told us so much about you." Leaf said right after he threw a piece of food at River's other sister, Liberty, i think.

"Well, i hope it's all been good." I said chuckling a bit at the child's foolishness.

The rest of the breakfast went smoothly. River would constantly nudge me with his elbow and then would play with his food just to get me to laugh. All in all, I couldn't of been happier with what was going on around me. I felt truly accepted in the Phoenix home, even if i had just met most of them about an hour ago.

After breakfast, River showed me around just like he had promised me. After a while, we went up stairs to his room.

"Woah, River this place is amazing." I said in awe. His room was decked out with posters all over the wall, at least three guitars on the floor next to his desk chair. I look out the window and stare out at my own room. It looked so different from this point of view.

"Thanks, i consider this place as kind of my sanctuary. The one place i can get alone time in this crazy household." He said watching my every move.

I picked up one of his guitars, and looked up at him.

"May i?" I ask, really hoping he says yes.

"Yeah, i didn't know you played." He said sitting down on his bed.

"I guess you never asked." I say right before i begin playing 'I Want to Hold Your Hand' by The Beatles. My favorite song and band.

As i finished the song, i looked over at River, who was staring at me in absolute awe. He seemed to be starstruck.

"Woah, man, that was amazing. You have an extremely talented singing voice." He said chuckling between his words.

"Thank you, Thank you very much." I said in my best Elvis voice.

We talked more about music and decided that it was time that we both get ready for the hang out tonight at Wil's.

"See ya tonight and don't forget a pillow. You might have to sleep on the floor, and Wil's isn't very comfortable." He said as we were standing in the front doorway.

"Thanks, see ya Rio." I said with a little smirk and a wave.

"I see Rain told you my other little nickname." He said looking down at his shoes.

"Yeah, and i like it. I think it suits you."

"Really?"

"Yeah." I said before turning on my heels and running back to my house to get ready for the night that lies ahead.
