"The best things in life are unexpected because there are no expectations."

As I sat on my chair in my office my thoughts began to consume me. Not your regular thoughts, either; ones that involved Kylie. I couldn't get her out of my head, no matter how hard I tried. I knew that I liked her, or else I wouldn't of asked her out on a date, but I've like a handful of women and none of them were this involved with my thought process.

I couldn't even read my damn paperwork without the thoughts of her interrupting me.

"Fuck it," I muttered as I pulled out my phone and called her number.

After a minute of ringing, her phone went to voicemail. I didn't bother leaving a voicemail because I figured she was busy.

I ran a hand through my gelled back hair before signing the contract I've been re-reading for the past hour.

I got up from my desk and stretched out my back before walking out of my office and onto the main floor. I walked to the window before looking out to the city and dipped my hands in my pockets.

I won't lie, I was somewhat annoyed that she didn't answer but I figured it had something to do with either Tyler or work. I internally groaned as I mentioned her work, she's basically a drug dealer.

I shook my head to myself, she shouldn't be selling drugs or working with anything that's illegal. Not only is she a woman but she obviously can't handle herself in that field. I know that she's a strong woman mentally and can hold her own if she needed to, but she wouldn't stand a chance against my men... or Kason's.

A lightbulb went off as I thought about Kason's men. She probably works for him.

I walked back to my office and sat down before calling a number I haven't called in a long time. After the first ring he answered with a hint of humor, "I haven't heard from you for a while."

I took in a sharp breath before speaking into the phone, "Indeed you haven't," I paused, "I was wondering if you knew something about a woman-"

He cut me off, "Are you finally settling down, old man?"
