"Being worried is a sign of being afraid and when I was worried that you were gone, I knew I was falling."
I threw on a dress shirt before walking out the door and jumping into the SUV.
Marvin smiled in the rear view window, "Kylie's place?"
I smiled back at him and nodded, "We have a date."
"Casual, I'm assuming," he chuckled.
"Yeah," I smiled, "She disappeared last night and I'm going to make sure everything was okay."
"Also known as, finding out who she left with."
I laughed, "She left because she thought her friends were in trouble, it ended up being a false alarm though."
"I see," he thought aloud before changing the subject, "You must really like her."
I took in a deep breath, "I think I'm falling for her-"
"Already?" he laughed, "She must be a charmer."
"She is, she's an even bigger flirt," I scoffed, "Too big of a flirt sometimes. Every man in the room looks at her like she's their girl."
"Is that jealousy, I hear?"
I nodded, "It sure is but I'm not worried about losing to any of her other boys," I paused before looking at him with sincere eyes, "When I found out she was missing, my heart dropped. I knew she wasn't hurt, because I how strong she is, but I was still worried that I didn't have her in my sight, that I wasn't able to protect her," I sighed, "I was afraid that she was hurt. I'm never fucking afraid."
"You're in love," he grinned, "Or pretty damn close to it."
I smiled back at him as I scratched my arm, "I don't know if I'm in love yet," I smiled for a few seconds before continuing, "But if we continue like we are, I will be soon."
"Keep a pretty tight leash on her," he turned down her street, "If you don't keep her entertained and under control, she'll probably move on. Not to mention the age gap too."
