Em's POV
The moment that Nick heard the other ship left, we went into action. "Em! Check them." She said as she ran towards the deck. "We'll make sure they're gone." She then pointed at Jill.
I saw Van was already seated and was putting pressure on her own wound so I didn't bother to check on her. Besides, I can feel a very scary aura even from my distance and she was looking at the wall with a murderous eyes.
"Is there any other doctor here? Where's the ship's doctor?" I yelled as I ran towards the fallen crew. Being shot in the head, I knew that Dylan was a lost cause so I hurried to the other fallen girl.
I checked her pulse. "She has a pulse! It's week." I said while putting pressure on her wounds.
"I'm the ship's doctor! Let me help." A woman in uniformed told me." The fallen girl then started to cough some blood. "Stay with us!" She said.
"We need to close her wounds. Do you have an x-ray on this ship?" I asked and she nodded. "Do you have any assistance? We need a gurney! Let's move her now!"
"I have two nurses but one of them have been taken." She then looked around. "And the other some's in shock." She continued, pointing at the another woman that was shaking in the corner.
"Hold her wounds." I stood up, looked around and saw some well built passengers and crew. "Anyone! We need to tend to her. Please help Dr...."
"Dr. Flinn" She said when I looked down to her.
"Please help Dr. Flinn!" Around five woman ran towards our directions. "Go!" I took back the task of pressuring the wound while looking at my fallen new friend. "You and you!" I called the two nearest crew. "I need your help!" They stood up and joined me. "You, put your hands here as tight as you can, keep the pressure! And you hold this." They were reluctant at first but still obeyed.
The remaining passengers and crew started crying. In fear, in surviving, in loosing their love ones. They remained seated as they tried to comfort one another.
The captain of the ship also seems shocked. It was her ship. Everyone in this ship was her responsibility. I wouldn't trade place with her even if I wanted to.
I slowly walk towards Dylan to at least cover her body. However, as a doctor, it's was job to ensure and call the time of death so I placed my fingers on her neck and what I found shocked me.
She had a pulse!
"Oh my God! She has a pulse!" I yelled and have gotten the attention of the passengers. Most of them gasp in surprise. In an instant, I put pressure on her wound to stop the bleeding. She has a pulse! It's a miracle but I still need to asses the damage.
Dr. Flinn came back with the volunteers with a gurney. She looked confused upon seeing her so I broke her the news. "She has a pulse! We need another gurney!"
The volunteers started to ran back out when we heard the unexpected. "There's no need." I looked down and saw one of Dylan's eye opened. "And you're so loud... would you stop yelling and just stitch me up already?" She then started to sit down.
"Ho... how..." My eyes widened and my jaw dropped.
How???
Dylan's POV
I regained consciousness with a head splitting headache. Somebody was yelling and it was adding pain to my head.
Just what the hell happened?
It was then that flashes of images began to assault my brain.
I got shot!
I got shot in the head!
I got shot in the head! Again!
"She has a pulse! We need another gurney!" Someone yelled and base on the voice, it was Em. I remembered her being a doctor, so she must have taken the lead on tending the casualties.
"There's no need." I tried to open my eyes but the light's too bright and my head hurts so much so I only managed to open one. "And you're so loud... would you stop yelling and just stitch me up already?" I said while trying to sit up. Her hands were still on my head, probably keeping pressure to my wound.
"Ho...how..." If this was just a movie, I would laugh at her shocked expression. It's like she saw a ghost or witness a miracle.
I pointed at my head and gave her the answer that everyone's been looking for. "Titanium plate. Specially made. Bullet proof."
"Titanium plate?"
I'm a very private person so I just half lied and half told the truth. "Incident, when I was a kid. It was so bad that they needed to put titanium plates in my skull. Just stitch me up so I can go and rescue my wife."
"You need an x-ray. I need to check the bullet." She said.
"Try to feel it. It wasn't there." I told her. She did what was told and again was surprised at her findings.
"Must have bounced off somewhere when that idiot shot me."
"We thought you're dead. Ashley thought you're dead when you didn't respond."
"Hey... It was still a gun. It hit like shit! And I also hit my head to the floor so I became unconscious."
I was about to explain more when Van interrupted us. "Will you just stitch her up so you can stitch me." She ordered as she limped towards us.
"Dr. Flinn, will you be able to take care of her alone?" She nodded yes.
When they were about to carry her out, Nick and Jill returned with men in all black uniform bearing the our logo.
The cavalry has arrived.
