I throw myself into the sky for you

Jisung was twisted awkwardly to the side in his seat, the vinyl laminate sticking uncomfortably to his exposed skin. He was slumped downwards, an uncomfortable bend becoming prominent in his back and yet he refused to move. The younger boy could practically feel Minho's eyes burning into his back every time the elder was able to spare a glance from the country roads.

Minho sighed slightly, a short huff of breath that stabbed Jisung in the throat.

He knew that he should probably reassure Minho, tell him that he wanted to be side by side forever. He knew that he shouldn't be acting like a child for no reason. The boy who he had been rushing on for months had just poured his heart out and Jisung still couldn't find it within himself to believe that it was true.

Minho sighed again.

Jisung just really, really wanted to be perfect for Minho. He wanted to be his soulmate so that they could live their perfect life, planned in advance by fate. Jisung just wanted what they had to be normal, instead of taboo.

On Minho's third sigh, Jisung turned round in his seat. He reached out for Minho's hand on the gear stick and rubbed his thumb gently over the older boy's knuckles. Jisung's fingers were shorter, he noticed. He ached to hold Minho's hand tightly in his own and pepper kisses across the bridge of his nose but that probably wasn't appropriate when he had been ignoring the elder boy for the best part of an hour.

He was just scared. He knew it was cliché and stupid, but Jisung was utterly and entirely afraid of being broken hearted again. Which was why he decided to let his mouth take over from his brain.

"I love you." He almost yelled it, his voice disproportionately loud in the emptiness of the car. "I love you and I'm sorry if you don't want me too, but I do and I don't want to be afraid, but I am. And I love you." The younger boy paused before tagging a quiet, "I think," onto the end of his questionable speech.

Minho's lips curved upwards, but he kept his eyes on the road. The heel of his right palm was resting gently on the bridge of the steering wheel, he seemed to apply no pressure when he was spinning the wheel; Minho had the audacity to make driving graceful? Jisung was outraged. (Possibly because Felix had once described his driving style as "an old man on the way to a Tesco that shut down four years ago")

"It's okay to be afraid, Ji, we'll figure this mess out - I promise. I really mean that I'll stay by your side. Really, truly." He turned to meet Jisung's wide eyes, startling the younger boy out of his guilty stupor as he realised that they had come to a stop at a petrol station. "But for now, we have to put up with a companion."

"You mean Corn?" Jisung practically whispered, overcompensating for his whispering from earlier.

"No, baby, I mean Felix."

With almost cinematic precision, a light blue fiesta pulled into the petrol station beside them. A familiar head of tousled blonde hair left the car before it even reached a complete stop. "Jisung! Minho! I missed you guys, it's been, like, two months? How's my favourite couple doing?" Jisung shoved the car door open and wrapped Felix in an almost crushing hug, which was reciprocated with equal levels of aggression. Once they had seperated, Minho walked over and clapped Felix on the back, a fond smile lighting up his face. The three stood in the cool air, talking about their journey and smacking one another whenever the teasing became too intense.

As the youngest of the newly formed trio retrieved his bag from the fiesta, he gestured to the driver, "This is Andrew, from uni, he has ever so kindly driven me all this way and now I fear that I will be subjected to incomparably bad driving from you two." A blush rose on Felix's cheeks as Andrew raised a hand in acknowledgement. They mumbled their farewells to one another as Minho and Jisung watched with interest, both noting the rapid deepening of the blush.

Felix placed his bag in the ratty backseat and slid in beside it, watching Andrew drive away with a daydream heavy in his eyes. "Wait. You guys got a dog? Oh my god, please get married immediately."

Jisung wanted to throttle him.

A/N - This is late and short I'm so sorry
