There's nothing that can stop us
"Seven." Jisung gulped violently, his finger nails digging into the exposed skin of his knees as his entire body tensed in pure, unadulterated fear. There was no reason for the uncertainty that consumed him, but it came in swathes like silk that wrapped around the boy and choked him.
"Six." Minho's voice quivered as he watched Jisung bury his face in his hands. The younger boy wasn't crying, he was just broken down. The emotional strain that even the acceptance of love could have on him - was having on him - made him wonder if it would be worth it.
"Five." Who was he kidding? Of course it would be worth it. Him and Minho, able to finally live freely and be themselves. Able to escape the trauma of their pasts and start afresh. There was no person in the world who could understand what Jisung had been through and yet it felt like Minho already did.
"Four." A single tear rolled down Jisung's cheek, as if he was in a movie - the lead role, finally able to embrace reality. The movie like imagery was disrupted when the younger boy sniffed loudly and ruptured the stillness of the car.
"Three." Jisung leaned over and kissed Minho square on the lips. He didn't care that Felix was watching (again) and he didn't care that the gear stick was digging into his forearm. He only cared about the way the elder boy smoothed his fingers over the hair at the nape of Jisung's neck and how he could feel Minho's lips twitching up into a smile and how Corn was fondly wagging his fluffy little tail and how-
"He literally just said a kiss wasn't an answer, Jisung, could you please get with the program?" Felix sounded irked, possibly because he was in the back seat and it was cramped and boiling. Or possibly because he considered Jisung to be an idiot. Jisung decided that it must be the former of the two possibilities. He met Felix's eyes in the rear view mirror and stuck his tongue out at him.
"Two." Minho's playful voice disturbed the opening of what was sure to have been a spectacular teasing match.
"Your countdown is making me feel pressured and I do not enjoy it." Jisung mumbled, furrowing his eyebrows cutely and pouting to himself. He folded his arms and slumped down into the car seat, his feet kicking at the glove box. The sudden mood swing surprised everyone in the car.
"Ji, baby, darling, precious, munchkin, petal; all you have to do is say yes. You've kissed me twice and while I very much appreciate you kissing me and I very much want to repeat the experience, I just need you to confirm what I think is true." Minho took Jisung's chin between his thumb and first finger and tilted the younger boy's face so that they were looking at one another.
"And what exactly do you think is true?" Was the quiet response as Jisung pointedly stared at the gear stick, suddenly finding it very interesting. Were those numbers that were on it? Wow, that really was a game changer, he just needed a few minutes to admire the gear stick and then he could answer the question. Jisung didn't think that Minho would particularly value the excuse.
"Jisung, just one time, for me please." Minho pressed his forehead to the younger boy's. "Will you be my boyfriend?"
The younger boy trembled, but nodded slightly; a subtle inclination of his head causing his fringe to fall into his eyes. "Yes, yes, dear god, yes," and then they were both crying and kissing and Minho gripped Jisung's face as if he would never let go and the smiles that blossomed on both of their faces put the sun to shame.
"Finally, I was worried that I would have to adopt Corn," a voice drawled from behind them. Both boys chose to ignore their friend.
