"Jake."

"Jake!"

Jake groaned and let out a frustrated sigh before moving from on top of me to beside me. I rolled my eyes before leaning to my left and grabbing my phone. I gasped and shot up from the bed, "h-hey mom!" I said as I turned to Jake. He looked at me with confusion and worry and I just shrugged at him. "Hey sweetie, I'm outside your door and you definitely didn't forget that you were supposed to have breakfast with me, right?" Her voice was intimidating and I gulped, "n-no, the doors unlocked I'll be down in a second,"

Jake coughed at my words and I glanced at him, he pointed toward himself and then looked at the window, "okay well I'm inside now, I'm giving you five more minutes and then I'm coming up because we can't be late!" She said as she hung up, "yes m-" i sighed and frowned at the phone.

"Yo!" Jake whispered yelled at me, "don't yo me!" I whispered back, "I panicked!" I ran into the closet and got him a clean shirt and threw it at him. He pulled it on and quickly pulled on his gray sweatpants. "Darling?" My mom's voice called from down the stairs, "coming!" I called as I grabbed a sweater dress and pulled it on.

I turned around to Jake half way through the window but smirking at me

I turned around to Jake half way through the window but smirking at me. I rolled my eyes and ran over to him, he leaned out the window on held onto the gutter. I gave him a peck on the lips and giggled, "bye Jake, love you," I smiled widely, "love you to," and he dropped.

My heart felt like it skipped a beat, "stop doing that!" I glared at him, he smirked and ran into the street and away.

I quickly ran downstairs, "sorry I'm here," my mom frowned me as she scanned my outfit, somehow the corners of her mouth turned down even more as I grabbed my boots.

I grabbed a notepad and let dad know I was out with mom before following her out the door.

I sighed and swung the door open, exhausted. Dad looked up at as he put the coffee cup down, he chuckled at me, "had fun with your mom?"

I glared at him as I closed the door behind me, "she hates me! I don't know why she keeps doing these stupid meals out of the blue and then expects me to remember!" I groaned while taking a glass and getting water, "oh monkey she doesn't hate you," he smiled gently at me while folding his newspaper, "but she does!" "Monkey.." he said softly, "My brother is the golden child and she already has him living with her! She doesn't need me so why can't she stop faking it!" I yelled, "Claire!" He yelled back. I froze, that was the first time he yelled at me in a long time and with my real name, then I noticed he was looking behind me.

I turned around to my mom with tears in her eyes but she wasn't sad, all three of us knew it. She was mad. "Mom..." I whispered not knowing what to say, "you are a little shit!" My mom yelled, "you ungrateful little whore!" She threw my purse, that I had apparently forgot in her car, at me. She stormed out and I could hear the car starting.

I grabbed the bag from the floor, "Claire.."my dad's voice was gruff and tired but I already had my poker face on. I rolled my eyes and let out a laugh, "told you," I said with a shrug before walking up the stairs with bounce in each step. It had always been easy to pretend to be okay. I'm pretty sure after the first few months of my parents being divorced I hadn't cried or acted hurt in front of anyone. They divorced five years ago.

I closed my door and almost screamed, "Jake!" I yelled, "what are you doing here??" I could hear my dad's laughter from downstairs but I didn't care, he already knew.

Jake smiled. He moved over on my bed and put my arms out, "I can't have my baby being mad and being in a bad mood for the basketball game tonight," I smiled at him and leaned down into his arms. "What did I do to deserve you?" I mumbled into his chest, "well you were about to get addicted to-" "okay! Okay yup got it," I giggled at his smirk and kissed his nose.

Slowly put soft kisses turned into a a makeout session.

Jake's hand had slipped down my pants and into my underwear while I was leaving love bites down his neck.

A soft groan rumbled from Jake's throat but I pushed off him which made Jake pout, "babe please," he begged while turning us and climbing on top of me. I smiled gently and sighed, "we can't babe," I mumbled, "why?" He whispered while kissing my neck, "b-because.." my mind was slowly slipping and I was beginning to forget why I had stopped him in the first place.

"Hey kids no hanky lanky!" My dad called from downstairs, "that's why," I said, he quickly got off me, "yup, got it," I chuckled at him while pulling my shirt back in place.

We walked downstairs to trap something to eat. When we got to the bottom of the stairs he intertwined my hand with his and I could feel my cheeks heat up and the familiar pace of a faster heart beat. I glanced quickly had him with a shy smile while his smile was wide.

We put on our shoes and I grabbed my car keys. Jake grabbed in a hug from the back and snuggled his head into my neck. "Hey dad! We're gonna go out, text Jake because I'm not being my phone if you need something!" I called out, "okay!" Was all I heard.

We ran out to my car and I threw the keys at Jake. He rolled his eyes but caught them before going into the driver's seat.

The whole drive Jake kept one hand on the steering wheel while the other held my hand. I drew circles with my thumb around his hand and couldn't stop smiling.

He pulled the to a stop as the light turned red and turned to me. I looked up at him and leaned over a little bit. We kept smiling at each other until someone behind us honked. Jake jumped a little before turning toward the road and starting the car forward.

"Jake!" I screeched but it was to late.

The car crashed into us and my car was pushed sideways. I was yanked out of my seat and was pulled back in. There was glass and fire, my breath was barely there, I was going fast but I wouldn't close my eyes with out seeing where Jake was. I turned as much as I could but my leg was burning with pain.

"No!" No no no!" Jake was leaning over the steering wheel, his eyes where closed, and there was blood, so much blood. I started realize it wasn't just his blood.

I tried shaking him but I could barely reach. I felt stuck. My body couldn't move and I just lay there against the door. "Jake please!" I thought I could scream but it barely came out.

Tears were streaming out of my eyes but I couldn't remember anything after that. Everything has gone black.
