*Sam's POV*

I sighed. The world has been black and white for so long. Okay maybe I'm exaggerating a little bit but I'm twenty-two and still waiting. Colby found his soulmate a year ago. And most of my friends had to.

All my friends talked about colors all the time. They said I'd know which each color was called the moment I saw it. But so far I only knew the different blacks, grays, and white.

Colby knocked on my apartment door, "come on dude!" He yelled, "coming!" I yelled back. I grabbed my phone and left with Colby.

"Dude you aren't allowed to sulk this whole party. You'll find her, I swear." He told me as we parked the car, "easy for you to say, you've already found her," I grumbled at him.

He didn't hear me. He was already making out with his stupid soulmate. I rolled my eyes, grabbed him by the back of the shirt, and took him to where the rest of our friends were. Corey, Colby, Jake, Mike, Kevin, Devyn, Tara, Xepher, Colby's girlfriend, and Kevin's girlfriend.

I groaned internally. Of course everyone could see color except me.

*hours pass. Colby and his girlfriend are gone, along with some other friends, Kevin and Mike were still with Sam*

I had finally forgotten about the whole black and white thing. My eyes were closed and I was jumping around to the music.

Suddenly I was pushed roughly and opened my eyes. I gasped. Everything as bright and new. New colors flashed in my eyes. I smiled brightly and then I frowned.

My heart dropped. I started looking across the crowd for whoever the hell it was that I had bumped into.

"No. No no no no!" I yelled. There were too many people around here and I couldn't think straight. Music blasted in my ears and breath became unsteady. I needed to find her.

"Kevin!" I shook his arm, "yeah what's up dude?" Worry I'm his voice, "I see color," his mouth dropped open and then he smiled and then he yelled out with happiness.

"Where is she??" Kevin screamed over the music, "that's just it! I don't know because I wasn't looking when it happened and there were too many people when I did look!!" I yelled back, Kevin burst out laughing, "Okay okay, I'll help you," he tried to stifle his laughter.

I rolled my eyes and turned to look back at the crowd. Suddenly I didn't need Kevin's help anymore. "I think you found her," was all Kevin said before turning away.

I had locked eyes with her. She had beautiful blue wavy hair that was up in two ponytails, her lips were a beautiful red, and the way she smiled when she looked at me made me smile instantly.

When I got to her my heart was beating ten times faster. "I'm Sam," I yelled over all the sound, "Katrina!" She yelled back, "Do you wanna go somewhere quieter?!" I yelled again, she nodded.

Suddenly she was taking my hand. There were actual tingles shooting up my arm.

We held on tight to each other as Katrina led them through the crowd. I couldn't stop smiling.

Finally, when we got to the end of the crowd and to the parking lot, Katrina let go of my hand which led made me frown. Katrina smirked at that and grabbed my hand again, "my friend took a truck, I have some pillows and blankets in the car," Katrina said pulling me towards the car, "well well well, were you expecting to have us meet?" I teased, Katrina rolled her eyes.

It was honestly the perfect night for it consider there were actually stars in the sky and the music was far enough away that it was just a soft background sound.

"I've been waiting for you for way too long," I told her. We had been laying down for a long time now, she looked up at me with a soft smile on her face. Instead of words she pulled herself up and kissed me.

My whole body became warm and I put a hand on her cheek, kissing her back. Blood rushed to my groin as the kiss became heated. I never knew someone could feel turned on so quickly.

I pulled away softly and she nodded. We both knew we didn't want to go farther when we just found each other. We wanted to go slow, we had a lifetime together.

I kissed her head as she leaned back on my chest.

We kissed here and there but mostly we talked the whole time. Little and big things. But it was the best night of my life.
