Chapter 9|' How do you know exactly what to say?'|

"What's the plan?" Sadie asked as soon as she stepped inside the Holloway House.

"Okay, so last week Taylor went to his weekly football game thing." I paused to make sure she was keeping up. "When he got back, he told me about the guy who played quarterback. Taylor said that he was amazing and how his throw was unheard of here. Guess who the player was?"

She urged me to go on. "Ryder Mathews."

"Shut up." She gasped. "No way."

"Yes way," I confirmed with a nod. "And we are going to go to Taylor's football game thing, video tape him, and send it to Coach Watson."

Sadie sent me a look. "When did you think of this?"

I grinned. "I didn't. I completely forgot about it. I've been winging it for the last couple of minutes."

She made a sound of indignation. "And how are we doing this?"

"I told Taylor to hold his weekly game tomorrow–even though its a Tuesday..." I began. "...And we're gonna go decked out in green to the field and hide where they can't see us. I told Taylor about the plan because we all know how he's obsessed with beating Lawrenceville and we can't do that without a great quarterback."

The Lawrenceville Patriots are our arch rivals who always beat us when we play them. It doesn't help that they have been undefeated for five years straight. Sadie  looked a little skeptical.

"Think about it," I told her. "If Ryder is as good as Taylor says he is, then we might have a chance at beating Lawrenceville this year."

"Damn it," Sadie groaned. "How do you know exactly what to say?"

I jumped up and down, squealing, "So you're in?"

"Would I have came if I wasn't?" Sadie retorted.

I led her upstairs. "Wait," She dug her heals into the carpet right I'm front of my door to stop. "I don't have any green."

When she saw my incredulous look, she defended herself. "What? It makes me look bloated."

I hid my smile. "Well no need to fear," I said brightly, throwing open the door where two army green outfits were strewn across my bed. "Ryder is here!"

Sadie shrieked and ran over to the left one. "Oh my gosh! I am totally wearing this one...and keeping it."

She pulled her phone out. "What are you doing?" I asked her curiously.

She scoffed. "Taking a picture of it, of course."

I laughed. "Come on," I gestured downstairs. "I'm starving."

She grumbled and stomped down the stairs. I put the outfits in the closet and followed after her.

A/N:

What's up? This is just a filler chapter. The actual game is tomorrow. This is just Ryder and Sadie time. I'll still be updating on Saturday too. So check it out in a couple of days. Thanks for 2.8k reads! You have no idea how much that means to me!
