Naruto flashed to the academy and walked back in. he opened the classroom door to see Sasuke and Sakura. The rest of the room was empty. Naruto walked over to sit in a seat near the back of the class. He was about to pull out his sealing supplies to work on a seal he had been creating. It was a shock seal that would be able to be used at a long distance and multiple times.

He stopped though, and got up and moved to sit next to Sasuke. Sakura was about to protest but Naruto shot her a nasty glare. Naruto hated how Sakura was when she was in the academy, she was nothing like how she would grow up to be. He stood next to the desk Sasuke sat at.

"Sakura could you step over there please? I would like to speak to Sasuke in private." Naruto gave her a hard look that all but screamed go away!

Sakura reluctantly went over to the other side of the room.

Naruto turned to Sasuke. He was not good at approaching things slowly so he decided to be blunt. "Sasuke, I know why you want to be strong. And I also know you are doing it for the wrong reason."

He knew he was being blunt but he needed to get Sasuke on the right path.

Sasuke stood up angrily. "No you don't! I must kill him! My hatred will make me strong, strong enough to avenge my family!" His voice had risen to a shout.

Naruto sighed. "Sasuke, are you really going to listen to the guy who killed your clan?"

Sasuke looked stricken. I really have just been doing what he wants, haven't I? No. No more. He thought.

"Then how do I get strong enough to kill him?" he asked.

Naruto smiled progress he thought. "By protecting those precious to you because after all, you truly become strong when you have something to protect." he said

"But I don't have anyone." Sasuke said, realising how much time he'd been wasting.

"Yes you do Sasuke. You have me and if you allow it, Sakura. Yes she is a fangirl, but think. If she would do anything for you, wouldn't she get stronger for you too?"

Sasuke nodded. He hadn't thought about that.

Naruto went over to Sakura, leaving Sasuke to his thoughts.

Sakura was on the other side of the classroom sulking that the deadlast was taking Sasukes attention away from her when said 'dead-last' walked up to her. "Sakura? Mind if I talk to you?" he asked.

She glared at him. "What do you want Naruto?"

"I wanna be friends Sakura. That's all. Also, lay off of Sasuke. Not for me, but for him. You always talk about how strong Sasuke is but wouldn't you think that if Sasuke worked to be strong, would he not want his future wife to be strong too? And even if you grow strong and he still does not love you then at least you would be a good friend, strong enough to be there to have his back. Okay?"

Sakura looked a bit overwhelmed. "H-hai." she would have to confront Sasuke and apologise.

Naruto nodded. His work was done for now.

He headed back to his seat and pulled out his sealing supplies only to groan and put them back as he sensed Kakashi outside the door. Damn it! I just wanna finish this seal! As he saw Kakashi pull open the classroom door he had to struggle to keep his face straight. Kakashi. Naruto knew this wasn't the same Kakashi from the future, not yet, but still the last words the silver haired man had said floated through his head. He didn't know what to feel around the man.

Kakashi stared at the blond haired boy who looked to be struggling with himself. He noticed pain and grief flicker in those blue orbs. He almost gasped at how much pain was in them.

Sensei I have failed you in so many ways. He thought sorrowfully.

"Team seven?" he asked, unnecessarily.

He gave them an eye smile. "Meet me on the roof in five minutes." and with that he disappeared in a swirl of leaves.

Naruto buried his raging emotions, donning a mask of apathy and grabbed his teammates shoulders. He then disappeared in a flash of yellow, appearing on the roof a split second after his sensei, who gaped at the display.

As Sasuke and Sakura recovered from their first trip via Hirashin Kakashi was questioning Naruto.

"You know?" he asked.

"Know what, sensei? After all what would a Orphaned Sacrifice like me know about his heritage with no one there for him to tell him?" Naruto responded 'innocently'.

Kakashi flinched. Before he could say anything Naruto held up his hand

"I know you couldn't be there. It is fine. I forgive you. I got over it a long time ago." he said.

Kakashi bowed his head. "I am sorry that i couldn't be there."

Naruto smiled sadly. "I know. And to make up for it, you can tell me about them."

Kakashi looked at him gratefully. "Arigato Naruto-kun."

"What are you two talking about?" a voice cut in.

Sasuke and Sakura had recovered and were thoroughly confused. Why was Kakashi-sensei apologising to Naruto of all people?

"I will tell you when we pass Kakashi-sensei's test." Naruto said to them, ignoring Kakashi's shocked gaze. They should know.

"Test? What test?" Sakura asked.

"It's a survival test, with a 66% fail rate. More details will be explained tomorrow. Meet at training ground 7 at 8 am." Kakashi said, walking to the edge of the roof as if to jump off. "Oh," he added as if he had just remembered something. "And don't eat breakfast tomorrow, or you will throw up." with that he disappeared.

Naruto stood up with a yawn. "Well, if I were you I would eat a nice breakfast. I mean, I would rather eat and throw up then fight on an empty stomach." and he to disappeared, only in a yellow flash.

Sakura and Sasuke stood there, dumbfounded.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The next morning you could find two genin waiting at training ground 7.

Nearby Naruto was in the trees finishing his seal.

Kakashi was watching his two visible genin, wondering where the other was.

Naruto stood up placing the finished seal in his weapons pouch. He wordlessly formed a shadow clone who took off the shodaimes necklace and placed it in his pouch, releasing the henge and placing the kitsune mask on his face.

The two genin fidgeted, looking irritated at the lateness of the rest of the team.

Kakashi shifted ever so slightly feeling the third genin appear at the edge of his senses along with another he recognized.

Naruto strolled onto the field feigning tiredness. "Ohayo Sasuke, Sakura, sorry about the lateness, my alarm clock didn't go off. I woke up about five minutes ago." he said.(lie lie lie :D)

Kakashi suddenly appeared in front of them, making them jump[ sans Naruto] with a "Yo!"

"Your late!" Sakura exclaimed.

"Well you see, I had to help this old lady with her groceries." he said.

They snorted. "Yeah right." Naruto said "now can you explain the test?"

"Sure. you have one hour to take these," he held up two bells, "from me. The one who doesn't get a bell fails and gets sent back to the academy. Got it? Good."

He stared into their determined faces and,

"Begin." Disappeared.
