At this point in the conversation Yoongi is far past being embarrassed. So rather that choke up again, he raises an eyebrow and says "Okay so research heats, talk to Jimin about heats, and shop for sex toys... Lemme tell you Namjoon this was not how I expected my day to go."

When Jimin gets home from his shift the house is empty. It almost feels strange to him now for Yoongi not to be around the house. However tonight is pizza night, so he knows Yoongi will be back soon. And true to their promise, Yoongi gets back not long after him, giving them plenty of time to enjoy the evening.

"Hey Jimin." Yoongi greets him whilst getting some water.

Jimin's answering smile slips slightly as he notes Yoongi's scent. There's something slightly... anxious about it. In fact his whole demeanour seems off, like he's preocupied about something.

"Did everything go alright with Namjoon Hyung?" Jimin asks.

Yoongi pauses, even his tail stops moving. A brief contemplative look crosses his face before he dismisses it. "Yeah, everything's fine. I'm still a miracle cat or whatever."

Jimin laughs and raises an eyebrow. "Oh you're a miracle cat now? Does that mean I can get three wishes?"

Yoongi chuckles. "Piss off. I said miracle cat, not genie."

Jimin grins. "That's a shame, I could have had fun with that. Do you want to get started on the pizzas?"

"Sure, I'm starving."

Jimin had already got the pizza bases laid out, and the toppings prepared so they can quickly make up the pizzas and set up a movie.

"Hey Jimin, can I ask you something?"

Jimin pauses where he had been spreading tomato puree across his base, curiosity buzzing through him. "Yeah, sure. What is it?"

"Why's pizza night so important to you?" Yoongi tilts his head. "I'm not complaining, it's great but it's more than just a... I think you called it an 'important roommate pastime', something like that. If I'm being nosy then tell me to shut up, but I was just wondering why..." Yoongi bites his lip, probably so he doesn't end up rambling more.

Jimin hums, and goes back to adding his toppings as he answers. "Pizza night is something I used to do with my parents before they died."

He hears Yoongi's sharp intake of breath, before he looks up and sees his abashed expression. "Jimin I-"

"No, it's fine." Jimin cuts him off, giving him a small smile that doesn't quite reach his eyes. "It was a long time ago, it's been ten years now... We haven't really talked about my family yet."

"We don't have to, I don't want to pry." Yoongi says seriously, his tail gently curls around Jimin's wrist.

Shaking his head, he replies. "It's okay. Let's get the pizzas in the oven first though, and then we can sit down and I'll tell you about them."

"Pizza night has been a tradition for as long as I can remember." A sentimental smile shapes Jimin's lips as he tells Yoongi about his family.

"Every Friday once my dad was back from work we'd all make our own pizzas, and then play games or watch movies. Sometimes Jungkook's family would join us too, our parents were really close."

Jimin's ear twitches as he suddenly thinks of something. "How much do you know about The Hybrid Liberation?"

Yoongi's brow furrows. "Not a whole lot to be honest. It happened around 30 years ago I think? Before that hybrids were only seen as pets and were treated badly." Yoongi frowns, thinking that maybe he should learn more about hybrid history now that he is one.

Jimin nods. "Yeah it's been almost 29 years now. Before The Liberation hybrids were just seen as pets, or things for people to use. They weren't allowed to have jobs, or earn their own money, and most never knew their parents, being raised in adoption facilities, or by other people. Actually some did have jobs, but that was when they were specifically adopted for those purposes, they weren't paid. And people could treat hybrids however they wanted and get away with it. People generally looked past the abuse unless it was really really bad."

Yoongi nods. He's seen the scars that litter Seokjin's father's arms. He never heard the stories behind them but he knews that it had been a dark time for Hybrids.

"Of course not everyone thought that way. There was a minority that supported hybrids, loved them, or just didn't agree with their treatment. My mother was Jungkook's family hybrid back then. His grandparents adopted her when his father was little, so he would have someone to play with, and they hoped she would make him less shy. They grew up together, and became the best of friends. And none of them ever treated her like a pet, she was a part of their family."

Yoongi smiles. "That's nice. That means you've been friends with Jungkook pretty much since he was born right?"

Jimin grins. "Yeah. Apparently I used to sit by Auntie -his mum- and sing him songs before he was even born. Supposedly I was worried he would be bored in there. Sometimes Jungkook's older brother would join it too."

Yoongi laughs, and nudges Jimin's side with his tail. "That's cute Jimin-ah." Yoongi quirks his head. "Could you even speak then? You would have been practically a baby."

"Hyung! So what? I never said there were words, or that all the songs made sense." Jimin falls against his side as he giggles. Yoongi's shakes his head, as he smiles fondly. He loves the way Jimin laughs, how it seems to light up the whole room.

When Jimin stops giggling, he says. "Sorry, I distracted you from your story."

Jimin hums. "No worries. Uh so yeah, Jungkook's dad, my mum, they were best friends. When they were 16 they used to sneak out to join the Hybrid Liberation rallies, and that's where they met my dad. Apparently the first time my mum saw him he was hanging from a lamppost, yelling a speech about personal autonomy. They became friends first, but after a year or so they started dating. Anyways, our families were always super close, so when my parents got in an accident when I was 12 they took me in, said I always had been and always would be a part of their family. We continued having pizza night not only 'cause it's fun, but also to honour my parents in a way."

Yoongi nods. "That's nice that you can remember them like that." Taking in Jimin's down-turned ears he says, "Sorry, did that make you sad?"

Jimin frowns. "No, I came to terms with their deaths a long time ago... I just miss them, a lot sometimes. I think I'll probably always miss them."

Yoongi isn't surprised to note a sour tinge to Jimin's usually sweet scent, his instincts scream sad and protect at him. After a moment of consideratione he draws Jimin into a hug, wanting to provide some sort of comfort. Jimin makes a noise of surprise at the action, taking a second before he wraps his arms around Yoongi.

"You probably know this already but it's okay to miss them, even if it hurts. You love them, and that's never going to change. It's probably not my place to say this as I didn't know them but I'm sure they'd be proud of the person you are today Jimin. You're kind, friendly, caring, and you protect people when they need it."

"Hhnn when did I-"

"I remember how you took on that hybrid when it was going to bite me again. You're a good person Jimin-ah."

Jimin pulls back a little so he can look at Yoongi. His eyes are lined with silver, and his cheeks flushed pink. For some reason it stirs something foreign in Yoongi's chest, something warm. Slowly Jimin smiles, his tail curling happily. "Thank you Yoongi Hyung."

It seems like he wants to say more, but suddenly Jimin gasps "The pizzas!" and he's dashing out of the room.

A wide grin splits Yoongi's face when the cat returns with the 'only slightly burned' food.
